The Evening Standard's report on his signing implies that there is an option to buy, without explicitly saying so:


" The 24-year-old Morocco international (right) has agreed a season-long loan which could turn into a permanent move from Championship side Queens Park Rangers if he impresses manager Martin Jol."

Footnote: They are the only paper I've been able to find which comments, one way or the other on the 'option to buy'
 
To be honest, I don't know what all the fuss is about the buy-option in the loan deal. It doesn't mean we can't make a bid for him after his loan finishes, surely?

The point is, if QPR get promoted and they want him back, without an option to buy we can't make them sell him. If there's an option it means that we would definitely be able to buy him for the price agreed now and stated in the loan deal, not the price they ask for him in 12 months. Yes, we would still be free to make a bid, but if he has a storming season for us first, we might end up paying an awful lot more or see him go to someone with deeper pockets.

er, things have moved on from the days of slavery mate. You may have an option to buy which we would have to accept, but Adel can equally decide he doesn't want to play for you. If he has a storming season (and I hope he does) he would turn you down for a more glamourous club. Like QPR when we come straight back up. You have him for a season, enjoy.

I will refer to this comment come the end of the season and prove you wrong. Adel will either sign for us at the end of the season or move onto a better club, but taking into account the possibility of him having a good season would mean Fulham also having a good season (say top 8) I think he would prefer to stick around. Can't see a top 4 team taking the risk with him.

Let's hope we get Faurlin too. If only to piss off the rabble down the road.
 
Even as a qpr fan, i'll certainly make an effort to watch your games this season now. A real exciting attacking lineup- it'll be interesting to see the dynamic between Taarabt and Berbatov. Most opposition sides tend to lump 3 defenders on Adel at once (and he still manages to make chances), so he should create a lot of space for his teammates. Presumably Dimitar draws a lot of defenders too- so opposition teams will rapidly be running out of players whilst attempting to shackle both your attacking talents..

Things have indeed moved on from the times of slavery, but what if the contract gave us a right to buy, that would be something that both the player QPR signed their agreement to, so Taarabt would already have exercised his right to choose. I'm not saying he'd choose us over you if you come straight back up, simply that a contractual right to buy is meaningless if the player hasn't committed to it in advance as well. It's the same as when we signed Reither on loan last season. The contract stated a fee for us to sign him permanently if we wanted him, and neither them nor him was then legally able to stop the move.

If such a clause exists (and there still isn't a definitive answer), then Taarabt has shown that he doesn't prefer the, ahem, glamour of QPR to the delights of the Cottage, by signing the deal. Good luck for the season with all our old boys. Enjoy.

Cheers, Grifter. I'm not sure that any of us have quite worked out how Taarabt, Berbatov and Ruiz are going to fit together, but we're hoping that Jol has something in mind. I hope you're right about the excitement. With none of the three creatives renowned for the defensive work, our new World-Cup-Finalist keeper might get plenty of opportunity to show how good he is.

Did you not learn from last season? You lot were crowing all pre-season, "Europe" this and "top 6" that. Then you got throroughly humiliated and finished rightfully bottom, even after trying to spend your way out of trouble. I think it'll be a long while before you have any cause to be arrogant, princess.

Well, we've certainly been made to eat some of our words, and there's no dressing up last season in anything other than a disaster. Don't see why it twists your knickers quite so much though. My Adel returning to QPR comment was tongue in cheek - if he does well he'll be off somewhere in Europe.

If you have access to video of Fulham training sessions could you post some clips of Adel v Hangeland 1 on 1s, it was hilarious at LR last season.

Because Mr Fernandes never goes back on his word. Didn't he say QPR weren't going to spend nearly as much this season despite having a multi million offer for Hooper accepted? I dread to think of Dunne's wages too

Still haven't learned? Sadly I've blotted most of the win we gave you (because let's face it, if we'd fancied it you would've gotten nothing) out of my mind. I can show you plenty of Chris Samba at CC though. Perhaps I could furnish you with some videos of the 6-0 drubbing you received?

I'll give you some advice for free - don't come trolling on our board and act indignantly when you get called out. You look a bit of a tool.

Mr T also doesn't say Faurlin will not go out on loan. As a matter of interest is it absolutely clear that QPR own him? [He was the guy involved in the 'third party' ownership stuff that almost got QPR points deducted and their promotion.]

And on the point of ownership, I believe that Spurs would have got 40% of the fee if QPR had sold us Adel Traabat. The buzz is that, that contractually the arrangement with Spurs ends this summer however. More muddy waters if the loan deal has an 'option to buy' clause?

Just another thought - will Spurs get any of the £1m we allegedly paid to take Adel on loan?

Had one of his best games against us, can't imagine the lads are looking forward to training much anymore. Looking through videos of him is getting me quite excited about the new season- he's certainly not perfect but he is capable of doing great things. He's not had much stability in his career yet, hopefully our structures can give him a solid platform to find his form and perform consistently.

5 million or something for Hooper? We splashed 20+mill in the January transfer window alone. Plus we've offloaded a load of garbage this summer, so yes- we haven't spent nearly as much.
Fernandes has never tweeted nearly as irritably as he did about Faurlin, so it's fair to say that's one player who definitely won't be going.
You're really reaching with these digs bandit, must try harder.
