Rather amusing tweet from our old friend Northolt Will Taarabt be made to train at Harlington with @Joey7Barton as a punishment? That'd teach him! #QPR
I believe the Sunnis and the Shias start at different times. May explain why some began last night and done tonight
If its religion related, Traore would also have been sent home. More likely Harold is not a fan and has made it clear that there will be no Papa Warnock special treatment.
I found this.... Ramadan 2013 should be started on Tuesday, 9th July, 2013 in whole Americas and some countries of the Africa because extended visibility of the crescent can be established there. Rest of the world should start Ramadan 2013 on Wednesday, 10th July 2013. Please see below the list of countries arranged as per the start date of the Ramadan 2013. Clearly open to confusion, but I think that The Hawkster made the pertinent comment here, the club would have readily attributed Taarabt's return to Ramadan if that was the case.
Professional sports people should not let religious mumbo-jumbo affect their ability to perform. Like having a Jewish player who won't play on a Saturday!
"Clearly open to confusion"...............just like every other religion. If he is allowed home and not to train for religious reasons I'd be very pissed off. He's a grown adult and if he wants to believe in a magic man in the sky, flying off to heaven on his winged horse, that's fine. However, he (or anyone else) should not be given special treatment because they have an imaginary friend.
I believe all religions are dangerous nonsense, but I guess I'd have to admit that I can't be 100% certain I'm right. Unlike some of those that follow said religions.
Nobody can know with 100% certainty, however, the same could be said of unicorns and Godzilla. There is zero evidence for a god so why believe there is one?
I'm a committed atheist, but I do not think this is the place for a debate on these lines. It will end in tears and is likely to breach our board guidelines (Roller and Nines, it would be great if you could put a link to these in your signature, as Brix used to have). I don't think Adel's return home has anything to do with religion, but his beliefs, however deluded you or I may think them, are clearly his business and to that extent deserve respect. If the beliefs are sincere, which I have no reason to doubt, obviously they will take precedence over his job.
Plus, even if there was a big man up there. Billions of people are going to be worshipping a false god anyway. There's a 99.99% chance of no god and even if there is, you have a 75% chance of picking the wrong religion. Religion is just brainwashing. Just look at how stupid the most extreme religious nuts are. That goes for all religions. I wouldn't sign anyone who would eat in pre season or wouldn't play on a certain day, its just nuts.
Although I don't agree that his, or anyone's absurd, beliefs deserve respect, I do agree that this isn't the ideal place for a discussion on religion and will stop commenting on the subject.
Maybe we've had an acceptable offer for him? We didn't know about samba til it was all done and dusted. Maybe the club have a new policy whereby they insist on privacy til deals are made. Redknapp says were working in the background on players, and we haven't heard much, compare that to this time last year!!
Oh well still the best to wear the shirt regardless ... By the way you wear the shirt on the pitch ... What people do off it ...I don't ****ing care. This debate however can be easily won .... Why would QPR take Taarabt on a tour knowing that Ramadan was about to start?
