Give it a chance, people. It's only been available for about a day! There's going to be a bit of an adjustment period, in my opinion. Maybe there should be something highlighting a cross-board thread, though?
There are bound to be problems at first but the powers that be are still fine tuning it so like PNP says give it a chance and you may grow to love it.
Maybe in front of the title it should have 3 letter abbreviations of every board it is on. e.g. ARS or TOT (THS) etc.
Yeah, it might help people to know that they're on a cross-board article, CS. You can see it at the top, but it's hardly noticeable, unless you're looking for it.
I think that, given the history of the old 606, and what goes on at ja606, if you venture onto another teams board, you have to be very careful how you word any comment. It will be assumed that you are Wumming by the majority, until, and unless, you can show otherwise. TBH, it's one of the reasons that I've very rarely gone onto anoother teams board.
You really don't like it do you... I do kind of agree though. Cross club posts should be kept to the Premier League (General) board.
I've posted on other teams boards on here and I used to do so on the old 606, but you have to approach it differently, I think. It's like being in someone else's house. You may not like the way that they've decorated it or the area that it's in, but there are ways of saying that without just saying it.
First big mistake, "I'm not Wumming". As PNP says, and I have alluded to, if you are on someone else's territory, you have to be careful where you tread. Of course, the real WUM's love all that, they soak up the abuse like a drug. It's probably the only form of attention they're familiar with. Then, there's what I call "the fuse lighters" People like this Peter Buey, or whatever he calls himself. These guys post something like an obscure stat that purportedly shows something that they know Spurs fans won't like, and will get their hackles up. Then they just sit back and watch everybody arguing. Unfortunately, most can't resist biting, even though they know they're being deliberately wound up. The general board is the best place for cross party discussion, IMO. It would only work on one teams board if you could rely on only getting sensible contributors.
I definitely think there's a place for cross threads But more importantly than just my opinion, the owner of this site has developed it in response to users asking for it, so ultimately, we're all guests in his house and we should make an effort to respect his rules. I see the problems Ensil, but I think the trick is not to rise to the inane wumming, it's the catalyst for the thread to degenerate. Cross threads are always going to be a bit different from our exclusive threads, so I think we should treat them differently. If someone wants a bit of banter then that might be the place to have it, rather than on the serious topics. Also, there is a great deal of commonality and I don't think it's beyond our fans to debate those issues without the insults flying. The mods can deal with the abusive stuff if and when it happens, but I think we should be ambitious and at least try to make it work.
RM is willing to let Adebayor go to who ever matches the valuation that the MCFC board haveput on him. So therefore it is upto Ade and the club to agree the wages. If Ade wants 1st team football has he has reported to have said, then there should be no trouble to find an agreement between the 2 partys.
That is something that the board only knows my guess would be somewhere between £15m to £20m. Though I must admit i maybe wrong on that account.
Adebayor IS a gamble - simple as. His temperement, tantrums, etc are well documented. That has to be reflected in the price. Persnally, I think that when he's got his head in the right place, he's a fantastic striker. Whether he's worth the gamble is a call for Harry & Levy.
