Guess we got to love him for his celebration against Arsenal whilst playing for City. That was hilarious. And his half assed apology afterwards lol. Definite disruption! But if he produces the goods...
 
As he has been injured for most of this season, having rejoined us late in the window, it is a bit harsh to be too critical of his performances so far. Yes, the sending off was costly, but I actually think that he has been doing ok. His performance against Citeh was excellent.

And as for all this 'he misses loads of chances and goes missing for series of games' maybe its worth remembering (for the umpteenth time!!) that he scored 17 last term, had 4 perfectly good goals disallowed and was also one of the highest 'assist' providers in the PL.

He is the best, most complete striker on our books and personally don't think he deserves the bad press he gets - and certainly not from Spurs fans.

It was after he had performed really bad in one of the big games, was it against City? And she got the impression he was all about the money and didn't seem interested at all in the club. That is of course in a situation where he is trying to show off to women so i'm sure he wants to talk alot about the money - he's hardly the best looking bloke!

But it does seem to be a running theme that he plays very well until he gets the contract he wants and then he just doesn't try as hard. He seems more interested in what is happening with himself than what is going on with the team. Or thats the impression i get from him anyway. And i'm sure that annoys the hell out of players who are loyal spurs players who work there arses off to try and succeed.

He also lets his personal vendettas get in the way of the teams aims. He holds a grudge aganst old teams and clearly has rivalries with individual players as well, from opposing teams and players he has played with!

On the other hand he does alot of good with his money and after the attacks on the bus he was traveling in i thought he conducted himself really well.

Theres two sides to every story and i'm sure he isn't the super arsehole lots of us probably make him out to be, but he probably is a bit of a self centred dick.

As long as you can keep him motivated to play he is a brilliant striker. Depends how often he bothers to turn up, he can be very lazy! And how often he can keep his hot head under control.

I don't think he's done enough wrong since being at Tottenham for you lot to worry about him just yet though, last season he gave you a cutting edge up front, thought he was really good.

You say, "A girl you worked with last year spend some time with him (Adebayor)", and she said this and she said that etc., etc., :rolleyes: Lol...:laugh:... How very convenient that you should remember malicious rumours of the type, at this time.

At best your story is a pile of hot ****e !!,....... however well written.

I found the 'It was after he had performed really bad in one of the big games, was it against City?' part interesting, especially as be was ineligible to play against City! <laugh>
 
He was also on loan.,
Spurs were paying a fee to Manchester city for his services., Its was Manchester City who were paying Adebayors salary last season., or did the 'story telling female' not realise this. After all, she seemed to be quite detailed on other bits of his/her piece.
 
It's strange because I just got off the phone with the girl he worked with last year. She said he's nothing but a lying Goon <insert several more put downs about being a crap liar>
 
I remain a big Ade fan. I haven't seen anything significant to dislike about him since he's come to Spurs. His contribution and attitude seem great. Spurs are much better around the box with him in the team. As Spurf and others say, he has a gift for possession in very forward areas. He seems so calm, knows how to punish defenders' attempts to dispossess him, and as a result makes us a lot more effective against static defending. As for his previous reputation as a malcontent: there seems to be something to it, but it's not unusual for people to mature. I was particularly impressed with how he came across in the Man City tunnel video: a smile and a handshake for everyone.

His challenge against Arsenal was stupid, no doubt, but not quite as dumb as Crouch's two challenges against Real. Good players do stupid things sometimes, end of story. Spurs should have a rule against anyone over 6' 2" making sliding tackles.

This year the problem has been that he hasn't been available, and now won't be, again. While I'm pleased Dempsey played so much better than he has against West Ham, I think the team needs Adebayor and Defoe in it, partly because they're two of our 11 best players, partly because not playing a player who deserves to start seems to have a bad effect on morale, from what little I can judge.
 
If we win the next two PL games that Ade's banned, and win well, it gives AVB a selection problem. Dempsey has two games to shine I think.
 
Adebayor will have the chance to push for selection too, as he's not banned from our last Europa League group game.
Bit of healthy competition, hopefully.
