I like Huddlestone tbh. Woulld have been a good one for us but he has struggled withhis weight and injuries of late?

Maybe we have other irons in our fire?

I said this yesterday when I first heard murmurs.

THud is a cracking player, a driving force , powerful CM, he'd have been excellent for us.

I'd suggest his injury record kept us away, we have too many injury prone players, have had for 5-6 years, but he's a smashing player, I'd have been delighted to get him.

I thought Adebayor was quite a decent person in fact, not only does he do a lot of charity work, he also supports one of the players who was shot and had his career ended as a result whilst on duty with Togo.

    Nasty 'puke' of a man.

    Quite right Terry.

From what I gather, his charity work is, along with that other 'scumbag' Bellamy's, is an absolutely huge & significant help to the people in Togo (Bellamy's is Sierra Leone, I believe), what he did to make him a puke of a man was celebrate a goal in front of a former teams fans who had been berating him, and have the audacity to take an enormous wage from a club with untold wealth.

I think the charitable work, well and truly nullifies the latter 2 episodes.

It makes him more of a 'puke' of a player than a person though, his actions on the pitch.

I wouldn't dream of defending Adebayor as a player, he's done some pretty ridiculous things on the pitch but so have many other players in the heat of the moment. How they conduct themselves after the whistle has blown is equally as important though to me.

You missed the fact that I personally see nothing wrong in what he did v Arsenal, or in creaming City, I could have worded it better.

He's a cracking player as well.

The same Adebayor that went into sulks with Arsenal FC and their fans (after they all stuck by him in his first 2 poor years) to get a money move to City; then ran the full length of the pitch to stick 2 fingers up at them after securing that move; then who again went in the sulks with City and their fans after he wasnt good enough to get a game but then when offered a way out at Spurs went in the sulks with them to get his big money move back to the capital?

No doubt he will be kissing the badge along with all the other greedy twat mercenaries....until the next carrot is dangled and he goes off in the sulks?

He is a bad apple imo. Good player no doubts but will create more trouble in the dressing room than harmony.

6 clubs in 12 years and not one set of fans or clubs that affectionately hold him to their hearts?

    Cest,

He did push for a move from Arsenal, but then maybe he was being perceptive, Cesc, RVP et al have all done the same since, quality players with shrinking prospects of top honours due to a bizarre transfer policy.

The celebration at the Arsenal fans was in response to some dog awful abuse received, wasn't there a banana thrown as well?

City, he was actually crowded out by signings and wasn't being played.

He seems to have found a home at Spurs, the fans like him, the players too, and he was at times unplayable for them last season.

The deal was drawn out as he wanted to get his contracts worth out of City, is that so bad?

2 sides to it, he's far from a saint on that side, but he's not nearly as bad as many would have you think.

Ha yeah, I got it 2nd time round pal.

I don't think it's excusable for him to rub the Arsenal fan's noses in it, but he did apologise. Totally agree with him taking City's accounts department to the cleaners though, why should he and his charities suffer because they can't accommodate him amongst their wealth of strikers?

Where the OP is concerned though, if Adebayor was going to accept £30k a week in wages I'd imagine his transfer fee would have been circa £15m but with that you have to consider O'Neill's value of Fletcher to his strategy, obviously he's decided it's about £12m but that's not a reflection on what he's worth, most people would say he's worth less (not worthless). My boss paid £800 for a £3.50 piece of metal to replace the badge that was ripped from the front of his Mercedes because he didn't like his car without it.

They wanted to sign him permanently, he was a fans favourite at The Bernabeu - ironically they warmed to him after his brace against Spurs in the 4-0 CL game. Just pointing out that he isn't hated everywhere, although he probably won't win the Arsenal fans over any time soon. I have a lot of City supporting mates who don't think he's a bad player and would gladly have him in their squad but I guess Mancini had no plans for him. One in particular was cursing the fact that he'd been allowed to leave whilst Tevez (a real 'puke') was on his 5 month holiday.

Don't get me started on Tevez. He makes Adebayor look like a saint. LOL

I'd imagine he'll have a nice broken nose (accidental elbow of course) to go with his dashing looks when his "RIP Fergie" salute comes back to haunt him, my money's on Vidic.

Let's have it, I'll have a tenner on Nemanja like I said, and I'll have a cheeky fiver on Cathy Ferguson down the tunnel with her handbag.

Tenner on Red Nev running from the Sky gantry to deliver a Cantona ask kick to the neck.

Risky, as his foot may stick to the open wound that Tevez has ...
