Of course the fans don't want to hear it, they want to believe it's still 50+ years ago when players grew up locally and supported the team they played for and stayed there most of their career.

99% of players today are mercenaries and will go wherever they can get the most money. Ade and Benny are just telling the truth. Or do you prefer the hypocrisy of players who will kiss the badge and then piss off elsewhere as soon as they get a better offer? How many of our players do you think would say no if Real Madrid or ManC or another bigger club came in and offered them twice the wages they're getting here?

Anyway, life IS more important than football, or any other job. Doesn't matter how big a fanatic you are, anyone who thinks their club or their job is more important than their family has a serious problem with their priorities, in my opinion.

In the end all I care is that when they're on the pitch for us they give 100% and earn their money. That is the only beef I have with Adebayor, as he often hasn't done this. Benny I have no problem with.

I only just couldn't be bothered to say all that myself a couple of days ago. Klinsmann buggers of after a year, Teddy goes to Utd as soon as he could, Bale goes from heart celebrations to Madrid within months. All those players are somehow not mercenaries. And Ledley would almost certainly have been off to Utd or Chelsea had it not been for his injuries.

I do not see why fans give one single **** what players say in interviews. "Attitude" should be judged on application on pitch, communication/chemistry with team-mates etc.

Indeed.
And Adebayor has been judged wanting at various clubs, while Klinsmann/Teddy/Bale have not.

I think it is another one of your unfounded observations. Surprise, surprise, there are some on here who have more to go on than "little" when making comments.

By unfounded I assume you mean in disagreement with you. :emoticon-0116-evilg

Well said indeed, Oldboy.

And by "little", I assume in disagreement with you.

No little means, not a lot, as in the base for many of the personal observations on players on this board. From BAE, to Adebayor, to Modric and Berbatov. Fair enough to critisise their performance on the pitch but to make comments on their characters based on 'not a lot' is, it appears a modern practice. As indeed have you Spurcat with regard to myself, without foundation and without apology so I am not inclined to give your opinions on peoples characters any weight.

The problem is there are fans who are blindly defending Ekotto and Adebayor who I know openly attacked players such as Modric and Berbatov.

There are also fans attacking Rose and Walker for every mistake they make and then saying Ekotto is treated harshly by fans.

Overall on Ade and Benny there is hypocrisy from both sides but all it shows is as fans we all have certain personalities and players we favour and at times can be blindly positive or overly harsh yet overall Adebayor is judged by his actions and even his biggest fan can't be naive enough to understand why he isn't widely respected.

Boss I object to the critique of players personal attributes or lack of them because they are not employed for that reason. They are there because of their skill at football and should be judged at that level. The media loves to personalise everything and the cult of personality carries on. Many opinions are drawn from media reports which we all know are suspect to say the least so as far as I am concerned I will continue to challenge these opinions when they are posted.

Spurcat...why do you think he is odious? Not pount scoring...am just interested.
I get the mercanary bit....anyone who earns the kind of money prem players do will turn out to be one imo....look at bale kissing the real badge at his unveiling

No I get that Spurf, just saying Adebayor is someone who has never been overly liked by fans. Be that from Arsenal to Man City to us and yes that doesn't prove anything but I can personally understand why some find him repulsive as the way he conducts himself has never been that endearing.

I guess he's the typical marmite personality. You either love him or hate him!

My comments are definitely not drawn from media reports and I object to your inference they are. So, like it or lump it, I will continue to challenge your snidely comments at people who do have some idea of what actually happens at the football club.

No further comment from me on this thanks. You'll have to wait until AVB's autobiography comes out <ok>.

As a side note, those on JA606 may recall some who felt Spurcat had an "holier than thou"
attitude about his ITK due to involvement with the club. However there is another Spurs ITK
(looklikemodric) there. He said the same things as Spurcat from matters such as the Ade/BAE
antics, the Bale summer lockdown etc where an employee nearly got sacked.

So when Spurcats' claims get corroborated by other unrelated trusted sources, you give them
more credence (whether you like them or not) .

SC is the only person ITK who I've trusted as I find other people who claim to be ITK to be posting mainly for attention. But re Avb, I do believe he's been given the short straw over Benny and Adebayor as alot of fans are saying he was wrong to freeze them out but how do they know? By What's in the media? "as none of us actually know what happened unless you work at the club.
