Can be a personal question but this is an honest board. <ok> What's yours?
Smoking? Coffee? Piss? Drugs? Porn? Pies? Cricket? <laugh> Grammar Police? Travel? Fishing? Stats?

If so, how does it affect your daily life?

When I was young early 20's I had a an addiction to slot machines in pubs and clubs - thankfully after a couple of years I saw some sense and I grew out of it - when I see all these high street bookmakers with all their 500 quid jackpots blazoned in their windows I feel real sorry for compulsive gamblers and the misery that they cause for many families

Been there myself mate, it's a quick loss sadly. 300-400 gone in a jiffy. Over here in my state QLD it's the big money maker. But in Western Australia they only have the slots in the casino and tbf I found their pubs were more rocking!

Caffeine... jeez if I drink tea or coffee I'm 'speeding' for hours - I've never tasted or required an energy drink - it'd probably keep me hyper and speedy for days

Nice one mate! Do you see your kids everyday? Or does your work prevent you from that.

Apparently, there's only a few substances the human body gets fully addicted to, Opiates and Ethanol are some of them.

I think it has something to do with the fact that it harms the body to just stop taking them.

Anything else is habitual and can be stopped immediately with benefiting effects, apart from the others I have forgotten.

Coffee, Fags, Tea, FOOD, not actually addictive according to the 'experts' in the lab.

I can't stand it when people say they're addicted to food, that's why they're fat, it's not an addiction, it's a basic human requirement to eat to survive, just some people eat way more than necessary. Nobody would die; not a single person on this planet would die if they only consumed 2500 calories per day.

Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to man.
Alcohol is one of the most dangerous as stopping it suddenly can literally kill you. <ok>

Something to do with neuro receptors fooling you into thinking it's an addiction, I can't remember the exact article, I read it on a night shift about 10 years ago.

Ethanol is the addictive substance in alcohol apparently.

You can make fuel out of ethanol, you can get it from waste sugar products, one of my friends is married to the biggest sugar producer in the USA's daughter, if you're ever short of a cup, let me know... or if you have a business venture into new fuels, let me know!

Basically he doesn't believe you are truly addicted to any substance that you can just click your fingers one day and never pick it up again, that's purely habitual.

You can't just disregard entire research framework based on the human brain and mind, because our understanding of it is much more basic than his.

I didn't read it in FHM mate.
