What for I was just looking at the results for today and manc city v qpr had 7 minutes added on to the second half now this has to stop or before long we'll have a third 45 mins added on
Perhaps they should time keep like rugby matches. Every time the game stops the clock stops, it would stop the time wasters rolling around on the pitch when they get tackled

I do my wife's (who is also a St holder) head in banging on about this! A ball in play clock ends all time wasting and play acting. It's the easiest thing in world to implement, as said above we could just play 30 - 35 minutes each way ball in play. Goalie wants to take 2 minutes over a goal kick when they're winning 1-0, who cares, he's not gaining anything. It would mean the only way to 'waste time' is to keep the ball, the way it should be.
The reason there is so much time wasting is the same reason there is so much diving and feigning injury in the game, It works and like the abuse refs take off the players it only continues because Football allows it to continue. The solutions are simple but Powers that be refuse to take any meaning full action.
Some of the biggest time wasting takes place during a substitution, when the substituted player ambles off, often when they're right over the other side of the pitch. They should be given just 10 seconds to exit the pitch at the nearest point, and walk around the perimeter if necessary. The only exception would be for injured players that have to be carried off, or otherwise helped off the pitch.
the clock needs to be stopped when theres a sub coming on, and when theres an injury, also, another one for me would be celebrating a goal, stop the clock when its been scored, then start again at kick off.
will never happen, even if it does it will take 10 years to happen, look at goal line technology ffs.
I think this will happen when the money men realise that stopping the clock will keep the crowd in their seats longer and they will spend more of their hard earned in the stadium.
Sheep, apparently they're trying out new methods on the big screen. Huddersfield game the clock was as big as the screen. Wolves game...not so big.
Either way, none of them seem to be able to run past 90 mins
I totally endorse any proposal such as stopping the clock when play stops. Who controls this at present, the ref or the 4th official? Might be difficult for throw ins - perhaps a max. 10 seconds should be allowed for a throw in or the throw goes to the other side. That would mess up Gunnar's long throws I know but progress is needed.
The downside would be all the "traffic beaters" leaving after 25 minutes of the 2nd half not 35!!!
