I remember it well - we were the only ones on our street with an X-reg car in August 1981
Many years ago a couple of us at work were provided with Austin Allegro company cars. My one seemed to burn more oil than petrol, and my colleague used to book his in for service as a Massey Ferguson Allegro, on the grounds that it drove like a tractor ! Happy Days !!
