It was said on another thread about the problems though. Have a look at the KC from overhead on google maps.
The Old Bill want to keep the fans separate, that much is obvious.
There are three approaches to the stadium for the home fans. The Anlaby Road side of West Park, which comes out right by the Stadium main entrance on the West Stand; The fairground side of West Park, which comes out onto the North Stand; and the Bridge over the railway lines which comes out by the East Stand. The only approach for the away fans is gated off, and it sits between those last two approaches, coming out onto the North-East corner. There is nowhere else in the North, South or West Stand where they could be housed, and have an isolated section outside of the ground.
In theory, the current away section could be moved round to the East giving them entrances 1-5, if just to stop the away fans getting a full goal end. But that would mean giving the away fans sections like E1 and E2, which would probably be about as popular as Jim Davidson at a Soweto wedding. Even if that was accepted, I'm not sure the east stand, having no internal roof could be split between E2 and E3 as there are no pillars, supports or other natural points where a barricade could be set up, so that would instantly make it a no go.
I think most people especially at the club want the away fans moving, just not sure it's architecturally possible.
