Isn't there some quote from a famous football manager about everyone being around 4 games from the sack? Acting now would be absolutely ludicrous, and I haven't seen anyone suggest that. That said, we can't afford to squander out best chance to get back up because of sentimentality. So long as we're in or around the play-offs, with a relatively small margin to the autos, I'll be reasonably happy. At the moment we're dominating games and it just seems like that early season luck has deserted us. It's not going to take a lot for us to start winning games consistently, whether it's small tactical changes or a bit more luck. We'll see what Adams does over the next few games, but if by December we're slipping away from promotion and don't look closer to finding a solution then I'd start to be concerned. Hooper still isn't fully match fit though, and I'm sure Howson will continue to grow into a midfield colossus the more he plays.
No at the moment. We are still top 6 at the moment but if the Hughtonesque type form continues the grumblings will surely start. Pullis anyone?
If we do part with Adams at some point this season, I think Pulis would probably represent out best chance of winning automatic promotion this season. Considering that for Adams to be sacked we'd have to be at least outside the play-offs.
Give him a season ffs, some of Adams signings are yet to make their debuts and if we win our next 2 we could easily be top again in this topsy turvy league..
Absolutely daft to be thinking of sacking him at this time. As Dorset said we were top last week. We're stil in a play off position, even after a run of 4 poor results, although the results don't seem to reflect our performances. We were never going to go top and stay there all season. Sacking Adams at this time would be foolhardy to say the least.
I took the threat as a more of a opinion on how he and the team are doing rather than get rid of him. My thought for the day is "we are in the top six and have massive room for improvement"
Yeah, cost us last year dearly but the squad spirit is tight, no prima donna's so anything can happen. As for Pulis, I'm sure a few fans won't be happy considering his style, and how its killing football.
But i think it's fair to say Palace would be in a far worse place without his input last season. Means to an end can sometimes be acceptable or justified - though would soon tire of his style if forced to endure it every season.
Talking of cats playing pianos my dad told me there is a maniac in Ipswich stealing and torturing cats more than 100 have gone missing already . http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/i...an_100_adored_pets_reported_missing_1_3799738
Maybe if Thai had a working stream for the last 4 games or read the stats he would see that we are not playing badly and we are yet to lose by more than a single goal so far this season. Knee jerk threads like this are very dissapointing and i'm surprised how many posters have bought into this negative crap.
Seriously, what did you guys actually think he was going to do? first job and everything, you're in the playoffs! tbf in the eyes of a lot of ipswich fans he is overachieving considering his lack of experience! A bit of reality is need in the norwich fans camp and quick!
I'd say most of us ARE realistic. There are a few worriers though. One guy said 'if things are still grim in January, sack him!' Still grim?? Seems to be going ok to me.
