We won't change formation. For me there are 2 options which Nige will take, either straight swap Lallana out for Rodriguez and play Rodriguez on the left or move Gaston to the left and put Guly in Gaston's position.

    How is 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 like 4-3-3?

I think Adkins likes flexibility...not a fixed formation. Now we are getting results I think NA will change as little as possible...though things will change as we don't have a spare Lallana.

Because there are 3 midfielders and 3 forwards?

I can't see him changing back to a formation where we got ripped apart all the time. 4-2-3-1 and 4-4-1-1 work fine for us so why change?.

Don't think he will change a successful formula...it's just that whoever steps in for Lallana won't be Lallana. Bound to have an effect.

yep, theres Lambert, and then theres Puncheon and Lallana. Ramirez plays more as a central midfielder.

Pucheon and Lallana aren't forwards?, they are wingers(don't even know if I'd call them that the way they are playing at the mo) hence why they chase back to help out the lb and rb.

And there we have it. Hence why it is a 4-3-3. remember we're not playing Football Manager here.

Yep there you go atm Lallana and Puncheon are playing more like left and right mid, nothing like a forward at all.

With the greatest deal of respect Olly, you're talking balls. It's a 4-2-3-1. The 'midfielders' sit far too deep to be considered as a regular 4-3-3, and Gaston plays much more advanced, often ahead of the two wide players.

Oh deary me, was waiting to be enlightened only to realise Saints have 15 forwards in their 25 man squad. p.s. you didn't include SKD in your forward line.

I would go for the later myself and bugger the boo boys.

You have to be a brainless idiot to boo one of your own players.

In fact I would do it just to bloody annoy them.

Guly could save our season and that would shut them up.

They could all end up cheering him and thinking he is the best thing since Jason Puncheon's reincarnation.

As long as it's outside our own box, that's fine with me!

Adkins obviously regards Guly as his go to guy (thought you'd appreciate a nice Americanism, Godders:biggrin:), but difficult for him to impress when on so briefly. I agree that it's stupid to boo your own player, especially when it is not warranted on any level.

I see the Echo are saying that Adam will be out until mid Jan. When you read the article however it's just conjecturte no club quotes. They are just guessing!

Mid-January would be a result...means it's an injury that doesn't involve surgical intervention but just needs rest. Trouble is that sometimes it can reappear...all I want for Xmas is Lallana<wah>
