Been saying it for a while, Lallana will be a modern-day one-club Matt Le Tiss, with his no.20 becoming iconic.

    Great News.

These are the good times people. Lap them up. We've waited a long time.

Gotta say, it's not a surprise. If he was gonna leave us, he'd have done it a long time ago. Could have been a Premier League player a long time before he actually was.

Sends out a huge message to the Premier League. Don't bother tempting us away, we're all going to stay for the future. This team is really going to go places.

Now Artur. Do the decent thing and join the journey. :)

Great news and shows the players have all bought into the plan and believe that we are going places. Adam talks about the camaraderie in the squad...that can be worth quite a few points in a season. One for all and all for one.

Bournemouth must be annoyed...sell us a promising kid with a hefty sell on clause, but we don't sell him:)

It really doesn't seem that long ago we were all celebrating him signing that long term contract, this feels as good again. Brilliant.
That's five players who were playing L1 football with us who have signed long term deals, absolutely amazing, what a journey.

I think Artur better hurry up or he may miss his chance. Saints have already shown that they're not to be messed around with the Butner situation, so if it's true that Artur is waiting till we're definately safe before signng, by that time MP and NC will have the whole of the summer to find a better keeper if they lose patience.

Yeah but Artur plays with a smile on his face. I've really taken to his ability as a goalkeeper and his attitude on the pitch. Against Reading, when he was stretching for the ball from a corner and he was only able to get one hand to deflect it away, he followed and scooped it over a few players heads, as if to demonstrate... I'm the one with the advantage here. This is my territory.

I like that. That would instil confidence in me. :)

Sure would love for him to sign, and I'd like to think there's nothing to worry about, just feel that as Saints gave him the break they would like to see a bit of faith in return. IMO the longer he waits, by not showing that he's buying into the Saints plan, the weaker his position will be.

DTLW has some healthy competition ha I'm usually lazy and don't comment as I know that DTLW is all over it! Boruc, Cork and Luke Shaw (when 18) now! With Adam Morgan and Lambert signing new contracts plus additions in the summer! Exciting times XD

Lallana's a special player for me. I've always loved saints but only got a season ticket when I was about 14 when we were getting relegated from the championship. Lallana was favourite player instantly and has been ever since. He's homegrown (well st albans but whatever!) he passionate and hes lovely to watch play. Its not just his skills its his awarness and the ability to make himself available and keep the move ticking over he was so crucial for us in the lower leagues and if he can get a full season of fitness and find his scoring boots he'll be just as important in the prem.
You might be able to guess I'm pretty chuffed about this!

Great news, but didn't he just sign a new contract last year? We're being very generous with all these new contracts aren't we!

Possibly a need to keep him at a similar pay level to those just signing new deals? Maybe something written in h contract?

Lallana signed a 4 and a half year deal when we were in league 1. The first season I believe. So he only had 18 months left on his previous deal (or 30 months at the most).

His contract was set to expire Summer 2015, so it is a bit early, but I'd imagine it's just keeping his pay similar to the other new contracts signed to keep him happy.
