Adam has looked pretty sharp so far in pre-season, and Rodgers has also sung his praises in his recent press conferences. In my opinion, he's one of the more underrated players in our squad, mainly due to the price tag he came with. He was very unlucky last season with injuries which resulted in an inconsistent form and game time. However, with a full pre-season and hopefully a period without injuries could we see the good form he we saw glimpses off on a more consistent basis next year? The lads obviously talented, and most importantly chips in with goals. Again, like for so many of our players, this year could be massive for him.
I said it all of last season #footballgenius First season with no pre-season, injuries, and an unsettled squad is no way to judge a player.
Too lightweight? This isn't 1990, prem has moved on. I think behind sterling and Gerrard he was top scorer last year even in an season where he was missing through injury for a bit. Gopefully injury free free he can chip in with 5-10 league goals and assists. He has the ability as proven with last few seasons, just needs to settle in and do it. He he has his flaws, sometimes slows things down, but his technical level if very high and he is very creative and good in those little pockets with not much space.
Knows how to take a ball on the run too, decent option and if your serious about competing you need that strength in your squad on match day and not just fillers who won't offer anything if needed
Yup, he's rare for an English player in that he takes the ball on the half turn much like Coutinho. Thats the sifference between Lallana/Coutinho and someone like Henderson. Henderson stops the ball and turns, or controls it back to where it came meaning he loses 2/3 seconds in turning and getting his head up. Lallana is on the half turn and already I has his head up on that turn so helps him drive forward from the off. It's s all things like that which make him much more continental type player as English players just aren't taught with that technical skill
No its not. If you have no strength and just average pace you get blown off it time and again. Each and every time this guy has played a better side he's vanished. The only exception was city where they gave total freedom of the park to all our players. In the end he is what he is. Play him against lower sides who give up space and he will do something. When the level steps up his cruyff turn is no good to him.
Silva Cazorla Mata Eriksen None have real pace, none are particularly strong. If you know how to use the ball you don't have to have either of them. This is why English players can't compete because everyone thinks you need pace and strength to be a footballer, but the ball moves quicker than any man will.
Would like him to do well. Not all players are excellent in their season in their new club. Wish him well..
Every one if them is stronger and far far more technically able than lallana. He's light weight and one trick and not fit to lace the boots of any of those 4.
I have to agree with MITO here. I am sure he meant lightweight in terms of commanding the midfield not in terms of physical weight. He unfortunately cannot be placed in the same group as Silva, Mata and the Cazorla s of this world.
Lightweight - You mean fall over quickly or not strong enough?. Adam Lallana can improve hope he does.
He was excellent for Saints then came here with a huge price tag, injuries, stop start appearances and the pressure of having to fill in for Suarez when he played. He was obviously going to be a huge success I think he'll do well this season. At least he puts 100% in when he plays unlike certain others last season so with less pressure and some consistency, he'll do well.
Bollocks are they. They're all pretty similar stature wise... And yes they are better players, not saying he's as good as them, but your original point was he's too lightweight, something which means **** all these days as the league has moved from having to be 6 ft plus to succeed. None of them have physical presence yet still manage to succeed in the league.
He said if you have no strength or average pace you can't succeed something which is just bollocks as pointed out by the list of players mentioned who aren't strong and aren't quick but cope perfectly well
