I don't have an obsessive hatred for Catholics. Some of my best friends are catholic.

I do have an obsessive hatred of the Catholic Church though. In fact I have an obsessive hatred for most organised religion. I think it extremely healthy.

I sympathise wih what the girl has gone throuh, but in reality, it wasn't caused directly by Johnson, it was caused by the police action and prosecution.

If it hadn't been against the law, or if they hadn't have got caught, she would have come to no harm.

As you say, the sentence looks absurd in comparison with other offences :

- 6 times worse than graham rix having sex with underage girl
- 2 times worse than that other football geezer allegedly raping a woman
- the same as a headmistress comitting 13 acts of sexual abuse, including statutory rape, of children at her school, aged 13 and 14
- the same as attempted murder
- the same as actually killing someone by drink driving


He shouldn't have done it, and I have some sympathy with the girl, but the sentence is patently absurd.

I think what sent Johnson down for 6 years was the sexual grooming, which he pleaded guilty to one account. A lot of sentences only carry a maximum of 5 years, but that particular sentence carries 10. The jury finding him guilty on one account of sexual activity with a child and his earlier admittance of grooming meant he was going to receive maybe a longer than usual sentence.

I must have missed your posts condemning the sexual abuse perpetrated by British MPs, Lords, Protestant ministers etc.

You're fooling no on.

Some of my best friends are Catholics <laugh><doh>

You're missing the point as usual.

Part of which is that her new employer fully realise, that the mass hordes baying for Johnson's blood, are also desperate to get a look at the girl in her underwear.

Then those people are simply one of two things.

A: Naturally inquisitive, like most human beings, probably even women would want a look so it's not always a sex thing.
B: Hypocrites

Either way it matters not a jot because it does not alter the conviction or the causes of it.

I don't stick up for either.

But let no kid about here.

The church is ***** command central. I know so because that holywood movie spotlight said so.
