Maybe it doesn't bother me because Clayton was only at leeds for 2 years and only actually played for us for one of those years. He didn't have any special relationship with the club and it didn't hurt me that much when he left (despite me wanting us to keep him at the time), also I didn't see it so am only going off what others have said about it. And to the Cole thing, that also didn't bother me that much so from my perspective a poor example. I think too much has already been said about Clayton now anyway
Not like you, that comment, Shako. In fact NW applauded Clayton, and said something - wonder what the words were? I think applauding him was a smart move by Warnock, gave him the high ground and reinforced what a daft thing it was to do. And all Clayton did was score a penalty, might have been more excuse if he'd gone on a run from the half way line, beaten 8 players and then overhead kicked it into the top corner. But he didn't.
Makes you wonder, if clayton was so gifted as some would have you believe, why end up only at Huddersfield. Seems like one of those players whose career is continually going backwards
Lol just saw the clip on the Football League show (another 2 mins of highlights from a 6 goal derby game ffs), Clayton really wanted to make that point didn't he. Hilarious that Warnock stood there with some ironic applauding. But agree Claytons career is going nowhere at the moment.
He celebrated in front of the away fans with a finger on his lips. No sympathy for any bad treatment he gets from Leeds fans from me.
As a matter of interest, how did Clayton actually play? Did he boss the game at any point, or was he having one of his frequent 'awaydays'?
He sounded decent up until half the half hour mark when our midfield really started to get a foothold and dominate. So I wouldn't say he was bad, but the main reason he looked good at the start was because we were pretty average for the opening 20/25 minutes.
