Even with the optics looking this bad is the club still actively looking to strengthen the first team (McBurnie/Frigan/etc) surely he is having to think about that a bit?
He's not turned into a spiteful prick like the Allams did, but he’s a business man and he wants City in the PL for the money and fame. In Jan 2024 he took a calculated risk to push for promotion as we were in the playoff mix. The problem was statistically the league was the best it's ever been and we were in the mix because we were one of handful of teams that had done "alright". On NYD, we were 7th, 9 points behind 4th place, and only 3 points ahead of 12th. We spent a lot of money only to finish in the same spot, and now we're floating towards **** creek as a result.
‘His heart is in the right place’ ‘He’s trying his best’ ‘He’s passionate’ He’s a business owner, not a little kid playing in goal for an under-11s team. The way people infantilise this moron is pathetic.
He should come out publicly and say the club is for sale. At least then everyone knows where they stand. Although I suspect pride and him not wanting to admit failure are preventing him from doing so.
I don't think anyone is infantilise him, I imagine running a global media empire and several football teams has a lot of nuance
Do we know if there is genuine interest from anyone in buying the Club? The way things are sounding I can’t imagine we are an attractive option.
He "came out publicly" only a week or so ago and told us where he was at. Maybe we wait and see what happens from that first, rather than jumping on an article that doesn't change anything finance wise from where things were when he spoke only a week or so ago? I guess what might change his mind is the amount of abuse he is getting from many. As he said from day one, he'll go if he feels he's not wanted anymore. If he does that, then it will at least make some people happy I guess; good luck to us if it happens because I feel we'll need it.
i ask again, how do we owe that much? what was Philiogene and Greaves Transfer fees actually spent on? dont get it
And what will we need if it doesn't? I am not an Acun hater by any means BUT to say what he did about our finances being okay at the fans forum was clearly a lie. We are currently staring relegation in the face before a ball has been kicked as we cannot add to our (probably) demoralized and demotivated squad of average (at best) championship players.
I can accept a bad situation, no transfers, having to rely on youth etc etc etc. I just want to know where we stand though and be able to think ahead, fed up of it all now.
Is the implication that the club was bought by a deal whereby the previous owner was paid in installments from the club income over a period of seasons? Or is it that Acun has welched on a payments to Allam? Out of interest, i wonder how much actual cash you've got to have to be able to own a championship club. Seems like ppl, businesses and institutions are throwing money at the clubs and not treating them as a high risk loan.
They're owed add-ons from any sales made under their ownership, so the £3m is related to Bowen. They will also be due any sell on if Andy Robertson leaves Liverpool and goes to Atletico.
£40 cash down payment and the rest as an IOU to Acun medya and Ehab Allam. Strange that the league allows this as it leaves it open for what is allegedly the situation now.
Ok cheers! So not the actual purchase price as such. Personally can't think of anyone else related to the club who I would rather lose out.
Interesting to know what actual collateral is needed. What's the collateral in a media company? Is it equipment? Will Ehab be claiming a satellite be sold?
