According to Twitter, McGeouch had an excellent game, pulling the strings in midfield. I'd like to see him and Leadbitter start together.

Two up front is the way to go especially against teams at the bottom.
wyke for all his detractors occupied their other central defender keeping him deep allowing Grigg the space to run into for his goal.
If Grigg had been on his own he would never have got that space and goal.
wyke played McGeady in for his equaliser on Sunday, he gets lots of stick but I see a player who has missed a lot of football being able to do a job for us during this run in, just my opinion.

Glad Sterling came on and scored. Another 0-3 on Sat with Barnsley losing at Burton 1-0 and we finally get above them. We could still catch Luton.

But against anyone decent who plays three in the middle we'll get ripped apart. I was at West Ham on Saturday. They could have gone 7th if they'd beaten Everton but they lined up 442 against Everton's 3 in the centre of the park and Everton walked through them. 442 is archaic.

Anyone know how McGeouch got on?

Been desperate to see him given a go for ages.

your not comparing his table prem to teams in this division are you.
I did say teams at the bottom, Ross has to manage his resources for the next eight games and I can see him using different formations, but we can play 442 at times in this league and succeed like we did tonight.

Hard for him to get in ahead of Leady, Catts and Honeyman, but he is a very good option imo.

I was worried about tonight after the long game on Sunday. Happy the boys done the job. That game was primed for a breakaway goal when Accrington were pushing forward.

Morgan is a hell of a player.

He missed 5 or 6 decent chances, but he must have been putting himself about to recieve all those passes with enough space to get off a decent strike. In the moments leading up to his substitution, the fans were singing his praises.

Hume might be a bit brighter than Gooch. Gooch fed the ball into Wyke three times. Hume picked out McGeady three times.

None of of O9's crosses or forward balls found their intended. He won a fair few headers though. He's a bit of a tweener, not sure where to play him.

I didn't see him put a foot wrong, solid on defence and secure in possesion.

I think he'll be ahead of Catts and Power next season if we go up...

He's definitely got a touch of class. Hopefully he finishes well and carries the confidence into, next season. Some players need a season to adjust.

I watch a lot of football at all levels. Even in the Isthmian League you wouldn't see teams line with a mismatch in midfield like that unless they were playing a much weaker side. You're right, we can play that way against some teams in this division. We haven't dominated many teams this season and we'll need to match up in midfield against the better teams to stay competitive

Tonight he was compared to the player he was pre season, when he looked the pick of the bunch and JR obviously rates him, this has been a good night for SAFC all round as it could so easily been a banana skin after Wembley, but these lads have there feet well and truly planted, and the spirit in the camp is a joy after so many bad years, we are on the up. <ok>

    Needs is must
But I don’t think it’s the way forward for us maybe just this season

Love the fact that after years of ****ers the players appreciate and embrace the fans.

Don’t think Catts will be here personally. McGeouch was apparently very good tonight. We won 3-0 without someone who has been very important for us (Catts). All good imo

The automatic total is going to be higher than I thought at the halfway stage. Around 86. That was when my team Pompey were 5 or 6 clear at the top. But clearly Barnsley and yourselves have got your acts together and are now in Luton´s slipstream. Surely a team getting 90 points is not going to miss out. Win six of your remaining 8 and you have 94 points!!! A team does not finish 3rd with that total.

Forgot to mention last night how strange it was to see the last ten minutes out in such a relaxed fashion.
