Well it was all a bit sh*t but we’re through and emu got to see his hero score for Leeds in the flesh.
I wonder if he went in the club after with his wife. I bet he ran straight up to firpo and asked for his autograph.
Didn’t get to watch the game but a wins a win onto the next round But why on earth did we leak a goal
Firpo had a decent game. Shaky with his short passing to begin with but then most of our players were guilty of that. After that he passed the ball as well as anybody on a tricky pitch and always kept it on the deck rather than hoofing it up in the air as some did. Scored the crucial 2nd goal with a very calm (right foot again) finish after linking up well with Bamford in the box. Their goal he closed it down but the cross went through his legs which were only marginally apart so a bit unlucky really.
TBF I thought he was the best of the two full backs.....very disappointed in rasmus not the signing I'd hoped for
At half time I was sharpening my knives for a full on Firpo time to go post, as bad as I have seen him and that is saying something. Second half, especially after his goal, thought he was one of our best players, looked really classy (apart from the pansy effort to block the cross on their goal). Now, is this a confidence issue or does he just look good against tiring League one players? Hope we never have to use Greenwood and Roca as a midfield pairing in the Premier League, they were awful and would get torn to shreds. Adams and (hopefully) WM would make the team look so much better. Delighted for Bamford, played really well and two assists is pretty much as good as scoring. Keown said he is maturing as a player (29 now so should be) and that is exactly it. Sinisterra looked rusty and definitely a bit greedy, hopefully just getting back up to speed. Rutter will definitely be some player, he can see a pass and, as Emu said, comes alive when the ball is near him. Doesn’t mind putting his foot in either. Going to be some shuffling required when you think two of our best players this season (Gnonto and Rodrigo) are available to add to that attack. Really hope Jack doesn’t leave, we would be a much weaker squad without him. Marsh got the job done and picked a proper team so well done. Everything crossed for a home game next and avoid one of the big boys. If we can get through another round, who knows? We have the firepower now to go well in this and, my, oh my, I would just love a great cup run. That would be preferable with a string of good league results but, more excited by the cup than I have been for years
