Ah well you cant win them all and the lads have been magnificent in the last month or so. In many ways it will be better to go up with a victory in front of a packed house at the Meadow. Let us hope the club can arrange for some of the away end to be sectioned off for Shrews fans as Dagenham will probably only need a hundred or so tickets for their fans. Technically two points in two games will do it but I am sure one will be enough as Torquay are not going to turn around a big goal difference in two games. We will go up anyway if Torquay fail to take six points from their two games and I can see Crewe getting a draw at Plainmoor. The best result will be of course a Shrews win on Saturday - I cannot see us faltering now. It will be great to be in the higher division after fifteen years and we fully deserve it after the injustice of last year.
I agree with the above sentiments, promotion in front of a home crowd will do me. We're 99% there & I can't see us faltering. This has been a terrific end to a good season for Town. Well done everybody..
"Many a slip 'twixt cup and lip" I am prepared to believe that we will lose our last 2 games and Torquay win both-running up a cricket score against Hereford just in case we draw one.
kds i am prepared to concede a goal less draw against daggers and promo. in reality it appears el tel gornell is coming good just at the right time and this may be reflected in my prediction in lennys thread later in the week. in the meantime i am 100% with jenny. an old man down in deepest devon has been made very happy and proud to support shrews in a highly successful season right from the start. yes gt deserves our praise and the freedom of shrewsbury, but i want to thank john trewin, all the coaching staff, ground staff and even a very successful chairman and board of directors. well done shrews, floreat salopia and if some iffy prawns could be smuggled into the county ground shrews may even go up as champions(possible but ruined by ackers equaliser!
I agree with all you say Atcham. From what I heard of the game on Saturday the lads were probably a bit leggy in the second half because they have had a run of two massive games every week for a few weeks with understandably very little change in the starting line-up. Perhaps Turner will freshen it up a little bit on Saturday with Morgan and Taylor starting but anyway the lads will have had a week's recovery time and should get through this game on pure adrenaline and on the support from the crowd. Keep the faith Kasule there is no way your worst case scenario will happen because the Town are going up on Saturday!

Nice piece of tempting fate by Steve Claridge on the Football League Show. Congratulating Shrewsbury on their imminent promotion-all cut and dried. Nearly sixty years of supporting Shrewsbury teaches you to never take anything for granted.
I haven't been supporting Shrewsbury for that long, but a 2 nil up against Cheltenham with twenty odd minutes to go at the old Meadow and I think losing 3-2 still smarts!
