Jeez it's a depressing prospect. With all of our loan players going as well it'll be a job just to stay in the Championship next season (assuming we survive this season that is ).
That's why we have sent so many junior players out...so they play regularly and are ready for next season. Freeman will go I am afraid ( and thank you Luke for signing a new contract so we can get a decent price). Eze hasn't quite lived up to the hype, but still got 3 months for that to change)...but that will be about 10 million for the two if we are lucky. We will not resign any of the loanees or any of the out of contract players ( Lynch, Pavel, Cousins...Bidwell?) We will sign at least one lower league player on a peanuts and that will be it. It is going to be a long season next year...enjoy this one. Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
The only way to keep with the FFP limits with these figures is to develop and sell assets. But we need to get 5 -10 million per player and not 1 million odd. So we need to develop “stars” and then basically flog them. Eze and Freeman are probably first on the list. I am sure that this is the reson we have loaned out the youngsters. Some will be first team players next season.
can we sell luongo to Australia they seem to want him but never play him they could loan him back to us
None of it looks good does it. No wonder Hoos said we have no prospect of signing any of the loanees from this season. The revenue to income chart shows we have been reducing our wage costs somehow, though not our employee count. But 98% of revenue on wages is a hell of a figure to worry about. Football is a hell of a black hole for owners and a cash cow for players, agents and the football league! At least not buying players means we are not paying exorbitant agents fees too. Seems that we are making a solid effort to get things on track, but a way to go yet that’s for certain. Seems especially harsh when you watch the likes of Villa and Notts Forest throwing around money with little warnings from the league - why wait for their accounts when you could fire a shot across their bow and get them to fix it early (of course, that depends if they would listen!).
How much have Villa, Boro, Forest etc spent this year? We already have dodgy refs costing us regular points, what next? Blindfolds for some of our players, perhaps?
We seem alone in being sanctioned to the extent we are suffering. Other clubs have been similarly profligate yet seem to avoid having their business impacted in the manner we have. Suggests to me we have had some shocking financial advisors/accounting advice and perhaps less than impressive legal representation. Whatever the FFP rules are trying to achieve it appears they only effect those whose pockets are just not quite deep enough.
Wow ............... and l thought we were already paying out players crumbs. Looks like we need to sell them all and ask for volunteers to step up for next season. It amazes me that we have no money and we get hit with a massive fine, etc ................. yet Man City, who are worth squillions, blatantly screw the system and are yet to be fined? Two sets of rules for sure.
That's depressing, don't mind having to sell Freeman + Eze, but if true we're likely to be in a weaker state than how we started this season & that was pretty ugly until the loanees came in.
If thats true there nothing to expect next season. How long are these FFP restrictions still affecting?
Exactly that. The EFL operates it's own FFP that only applies to the 72 clubs. The Premier League is drowning in money so clubs basically have no limits. The National League has no limits so clubs like Salford City owned by ex Man Utd players probably could outspend us until they reach League 2...
Cardiff lost £34 million achieving promotion last season, no doubt FFP will bite their arses when they're relegated...
