someone nobody has mentioned is paul clement - masterful tactician and brilliant number two. could be due a shot at management... agree with laudrup - he's been looking for a job in england for some time. did a great job with getafe and also mallorca. would be a risk to give him his forst shot though.
Paul Clement would be a much bigger risk though. If you read the interview with McNally you'll see he thinks that taking a manager from La Liga/Bundesliga or suchlike is much less of a risk than taking them from the Championship/League 1.
Oh right, sorry! Yeah, he could be, but I don't really know much about him other than he seems to hop around doing a lot of coaching!
Marcel Desailly and laudrup are being heavily linked with our club, lots of rumours and the bookies have got holloway as the favourite since jones from wigan backed out over the weekend.
The way I see it is this Newcastle 2010/11 season 22 August 2010 Newcastle United 6 – 0 Aston Villa Manager: Chris Hughton SIGN HIM UP!
That is a very convincing argument Beefy! It would be true to form if PL returned to Carrow Road and put one over on us so we might need all the help possible! However, PL already has one over on Hughton though, although it was only a friendly against the magpies before the start of our Championship season!
With McNally saying that we will only appoint somebody who has top league experience, this will apparently rule out some faces that have been linked. Malky, Clark, Robinson, Poyet and Sherwood are the main ones. However, this does not rule one man out...... Steve Bruce
Michael Laudrup. Former Mallorca and Getafe manager. Worked on small smaller budgets and has a decent record in La Liga.
Supers, I've just googled him and found this, but can find no follow up! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/s...ave-cancer-but-i-will-beat-it-86908-22545470/
goodness, i remember that now! i'm pretty sure he got the all-clear. he was my favourite player for a period during the mid-90s. he was who i pretended to be when playing down the park. great player but michael was even better - absolutely world class. him and gheorghe hagi... masterful
