I have a Leeds/Yorkshire accent, listening to McCarthy is so embarrasing,no wonder we get the piss taking.Ferrets, whippets etc,and he played for Ireland, what a joke. It`s like myself dressed as a pearly thingy:emoticon-0116-evilg

I have a BBC voice (so many members of my family and friends say). I have no real accent, it's a mix of a private educated Scottish accent and having Irish parents. When I try to lower my Stephen Fry style of communication, I sound like an idiot, so I've just let my voice be who I am and people either like it or don't.
I was once offered a temporary position with BBC Scotland as a journalist, were they felt I could have a career in broadcasting. Sadly I was crap at it. ;)

There is Yorkshire and Barnsley Boab, err a little different.I lived in Jockland 16 years, dammit i moved south and unknowingly picked up a Jock accent ya ken? Gone now thankfully:shocked:

I hate the Birmingham accent should be banned from the English language <yikes>

I've got the most ****ed up accent I think

Grew up in London so a 'southener's' accent as the base, moved to america for just over a year so obviously didn't pick up the accent properly but was quite young at the time so picked up some of it, moved back to London and then went off to Australia, people say I have a mix of all 3!

i moved from Leeds with my Yorkshire twang up to Geordieland in the fifties and got the ***** taken out of me for years.

Now I have been neutered (painful) and speak Yordie.

****ed up accent here too: Glasgow/German cross, which sounded a bit weird in the first place, spent long time in South London, which made things even weirder, then joined a Jock regiment...

Boring, middle-class, vaguely Northern accent.

ScottishWhite, you're the only Jock on here that's not weighed in with your pro/anti-independence views yet...

I was about to say that my kids have a Scottish/Dutch accent, due to my wife and her family coming from South Holland, then I watched the last Holland game of the European Championships 2012 and realised they were a joke!
Still my kids accents are relatively unique where we come from and they speak fluent Dutch, as do I.
Beat that......

I speak German to a Standard Grade level.
