The big question should be, if neither the acadamey/facilities/expansion are not looking like happening this season.....then why? Money talks, bullshit walks. What is happening to the Premier League millions we have, surely it's useless just sitting in the clubs bank? I know we are frugal, but I have seen far to money clubs implode from money being creamed away by the supposed 'fans of the club' in charge ..... sorry, I cannot help be a bit paranoid about these things.
Academy first priority for me. While we dont have the money to buy big name players yet we can at least start to strengthen from within with home grown players for the future and maybe more quality scouts too !
I don't know man, I'd say that behind the scenes, in as many ways possible, they're trying to secure long term projects using, more or less, just the funds accrued from this season. If we get relegated (looking unlikely! ) then we'll be financially secure for the foreseeable future, and if we don't, well then any money from our 2nd season in the PL will be available for expansion, and further player signings. I think the lack of an academy is a combination of bureaucratic ineptitude on the council's part, and stubbornness on the part of the landowners. Come on, it's the Swans! Sort it out innit!
Council.... inept....surely not! You would recon on it being a buyers market in these times, therfore the Swans should have the trump card as they have the dosh. Hope you have settled back into things in Swansea ok, Scott? Are you planning on staying long?
Hah, I've a mate who's a planner who's spoken of Swansea Council a few times... let's just leave it at that! Yeah Swansea is good man! Need a sodding job though. "Jobs fair" today in the Dragon Hotel, apparently there's 300 going. I looked into the company and I reckon it's door-to-door solar panel sales mostly *throws up* but, sadly, a job is a job.
You can always give these guys a go as they are looking......http://www.admiraljobs.co.uk/uk-opportunities/ if you fancy a telephone interview send me PM and I shall get them to give you a call.
Long term planning , with money accumulating , while holding our own in the best league in the world , during the worst financial downturn in generations ........... A lot of teams would love to be in Swansea City Football Club's shoes right about now .A lot of teams would also love to have money in the bank instead of wondering how to deal with their debt . The club always take their time on important decisions .
Talking of money! I'll put money on the table, that the expansion of the stadium comes first!.................... please log in to view this image
