We were crap, but do you not think that the offside, the slip and the dodgy pen were examples of bad fortune for us ?
It was onside. Seems our players slip a lot - especially in big games (anyone remember the Gibbs slip in the CL semi) - its called a lack of concentration. Penalty was debatable. Overall 4-0 was a fair result. Not unlucky at all.
4-0 was a fair result - we were rubbish. But the slip was down to the pitch not lack of concentration. The pen was dodgy and the offside was debatable too
This is my first post on the forum... And it comes after the worst performance I've seen in a long time. I've tried my very best to keep supporting Wenger (and I have done VERY strongly up until the beginning of this season)... But this is seriously the last straw. This season was his make or break. And he has failed. After Fab and Nasri's exit, something had to change. But it hasn't. It's not losing to a good side that has pissed me off so much, because AC did **** all the whole game. They scored only because of utterly **** defending from us. We should be utterly ****ing destroying teams that play as slowly as they did. But somehow, we managed to be EVEN SLOWER. WHAT THE ****ING HELL IS GOING ON????? I am so pissed off. No composure, no leadership, no determination, nothing from the whole ****ing squad. That is the story of this season. They should be ashamed of themselves, compared to what has gone before them. RVP and Henry are the only proper footballers in the squad. Henrys ****ing 34 and off now, and RVP will be going too. So what the **** is left. Seriously. Look at that squad and tell me we will make top four any time soon? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. We have fallen so far behind it's ridiculous. A disgrace. Wenger needs to wake the **** up. I've never been THIS angry about The Arsenal before.
ffs, you two can literally argue over anything. You do realsie you're pretty much agreeing with each other?!
So your excuses, even though you said that there were no excuses, were; the pitch was a disgrace, the referee wasn't great and we were RUBBISH. I guess English isn't your first language.
Stupid excuses about slips and the pitch are really not going to wash. We just need to be clear. We were ****. perod.
I think we agree that we were crap tonight. But anyone without an agenda can see that we had some really bad fortune in the way that we conceded the goals.
Think Arteta showed his limitation tonight. A good and solid Premier League player but at this level not good enough. Last year we had Wilshere in that role and he stepped up against the best team in the world when we beat them and showed his talent and just far he can go. We missed him badly tonight in midfield. He has more drive then our entire midfield tonight put together.
I think you were reasonably unlucky with 2 of the goals; the offside one and the pen was a little soft considering RVP wasn't awarded one at the other end.
The RVP foul was every bit as much a pen if the Ibra one was. It doesn't really need saying that we were awful tonight. But the way in which we conceded the goals were really unfortunate and have probably cost us the tie.
I've been a GOONER for over thirty years and I have to say that that game is one of the biggest let downs in that time. It used to be that we would go to play away in Europe knowing that we could get something out of the game (Turin 1980 springs to mind). We always fought hard and if we didn't win then so what 'coz we gave it our best shot. But now I don't feel confident anymore, even against teams like Wigan, Stoke, etc, teams we should beat easily. There's something wrong with our team and you know what the worst thing is? We've known it for years, and still nothing has been done about it. BRING BACK THE WINNING MENTALITY, BRING BACK THE ARSENAL SPIRIT!
Why are we so bad on counter attacks, stop passing it sideways and try to get in a good position! Also, we suck at defending counter attacks, one nice pass and we're done. Also, it seems that when a team has 8+ men behind the ball they are impenetrable, while when we have 8+ men behind the wall I actually worry (literally even if their attack consists of 3 players...).
Van Persie can't be rested for the Sunderland game. Getting back with a win is the only thing that will save this season from a collapse. A front three of Van Persie,AOC and Gervinho needs to play.
