Possibly the dullest record to be broken and the one that most people probably don't give a crap about. But thanks anyway. Come again soon.
In about 2 years time, Alonso will beat Schumacher's record of most points scored of all time. I think that'll be better.

That's why records are not all that relevant when considering race starts/laps done/points etc as there are far more races in a season than there were many years ago so it is hard to draw a comparison these days between records.
you could say that but the new points system came in 2010. the same year MS came back so.... he had his chance
Not if Fernando passes him in 2014, having had an extra year under the system, Eventually Fernando will be passed by Vettel, then someone else who spent there whole career under the post 2010 system. There have been changes before of course (9 to 10 points, 8 finishers instead of 6) but when its quite this drastic you can only really have a 1950-2009 leaderboard and a 2010-present leaderboard.
Me neither, so... one could have the weight pen. for qualifying only? Cars could be designed to accomdate a weight port so the weight is in the same place on all cars, the FIA or Stewards would over see the weight being added during qualifying? May lead to more dynamic racing rather than the static follow the leader racing we've had for the last few races and years previous.
Race points will now be: 1st 'Phi' 2nd pi 3rd x 4th The radius of the earth 5th The answer to life, the universe and everything... 6th The hypotenuse of the ramp im making of this new point system also 24th place will receive 1 point and a gold medal
--- Alonso aims to push Red Bull to breaking point http://en.espnf1.com/ferrari/motorsport/story/93546.html Fernando Alonso is not expecting to match Red Bull's pace at this weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but he plans to be close enough to push championship rival Sebastian Vettel into a mistake or a mechanical issue. --- Weird stuff. What a great sportsmanship.
He he means literally (which I doubt) then yes. I he means metaphorically then thats fair game Especially at a hard track to overtake on.
