And as I said that was not the point these two tards made, they stated that McCall (who won ****all) deserved credit for getting a CL spot but Lenny deserved none because Rangers were hamstrung by a 10 point deduction. Surely the fact that Rangers were barred from the CL was the ONLY reason M'well got a CL spot.
Fair point, Dev. But Motherwell still had to beat the non-OF teams at their level to secure it. I think that is an achievement. Worthy of manager of the year? I dunno and don't much care. Manager/player month/year awards hold little interest for me. Having said that, Lenny's unbeaten run certainly gives him a right good shout at manager of the year.
I'm well aware of his point. If that were the criteria the manager of the third place team would win every year (or at least every other year, taking turn around with the title-winning manager when there has been a tight battle). Being least mediocre of the other 10 is unexceptional - and in terms of getting close to second or distance from 4th Motherwell have done pretty much the same as other previous 3rd place teams (in recent seasons). I'd say, at present, winning a trophy is a better achievement for a non-Glasgow SPL team. By definition some team has to come 3rd in the league every year whereas, prior to this season, only 2 of the previous ten cup competitions had been won by a team other than Celtic or Rangers.
When is it voted for again I remember an old argument about how its over a year, not over a season (Jan11 to Jan12 for example) So maybe McCalls champions league qualification counts toward next years?
I told you that radiotherapy wouldn't cure your incontinence and might have side-effects but would you listen ...
