Please if you are going to state facts check them, I am not going to denigrate Dicks but he was in charge for 8 seasons in the 2nd division and 5 of them were relegation battles, hardly competitive?
One of them taking us to the top tier of English football. So far the only manager able to achieve that at our club. Are you trying to compare Cotts Achievement Winning league one (old 3rd div) to Those of Alan Dicks being promoted to top flight? Sorry not even close.
Haven't you better things to do at 2 - 24am ? Anyway, I've had a word with the matron at your place of incarceration. She's promised me to double the tablets in your cocoa.
one of the professors today said to ask if you are BCFCRob's dad! … it was said in good humour … and it was just an observation … of certain traits with your posting …. lol well had to go shopping … went to a BM on the off chance that had an item which 12 Major DIY stores didn't … they had 3 and it worked out as buy one get the second half price ...compared to!!!! bought a few necessary items like bleach..great mixed with orange juice ...cough cough! In the que which was quite long took 20 mins to get to entrance... had a very interesting "argument" the loser was battered and bruised, he made a comment to the wrong woman... slagged Boris off for our predicament …. [ 3 people behind him and 2 in front and quite a few spectators ] after his opening comment she very politely asked him to explain … " all based on hindsight and the government not listening to other countries etc" well it could have been a re enactment of an "enemy surrounded by half a dozen bren gun operators" he was torn to shreds.... twice he started to walk away, but realised he was only minutes from the door and the que was longer than when he first joined it. THE WOMAN was very politey spoken, but would not be interrupted .. there must have been a dozen people all had a go at some point … anyway AD... "HARDLY COMPETITIVE" ….really? we fought off relegation 5 times and were not competitive how come we stayed up then?? EVEN IN POOR TIMES ALL THE DIVISIONS ARE COMPETITIVE toward the end of a season some teams may realise they cant be top 6 or relegated and ease off the peddle and lose a bit of their competive edge .. but fighting to get top of … or avoid bottom of still needs to be competitive … history shows that often a team in a certain position of development may take a number of seasons to get the right blend … look at LEEDS or Sheff U … even Sunderland at the mo … 3, 4 or 5 years is nothing new in getting it right. City woke up and smelt the coffee.. finances... stadium …. training …. team …. academy ….. were all a mess … so lets sort it...….FINALLY …. and they are, it is a work in progress and the table shows they are competitive team ………… and if LJ replicates AD then few red faces maybe …
I'm sure you can read, I never compared anything, I merely pointed out that yet again your 'facts' were not actually 'facts'.
From the very first sentence of your ramble, your observation is wrong I have no idea who these people are. You won't see a red face in my house, unlike some fans I support/supported every single manager (even Pulis) because I want to enjoy my match day experience and want to see us be successful I couldn't give a crap who the manager is but I reserve the right to criticise.
they are a group of friends mostly retired like me City fans [ 2 are gas ] mostly lecturers and a couple of teachers combined age is approaching 650 years think I am second youngest …. meet every Friday for a coffee morning [ tea mostly ] have a general chat and put the world to rights …. it was not my observation BTW …. the point was competitiveness not who the manager was / is.
The answer to the first question is a definite 'Yes'! And to the second, he is the new 'kid' on the block!!
What have I said that were facts and are not? Only this one "LJ's not proved himself in winning anything, but has proved himself being competitive in the championship more than any manager we've had since Alan Dicks...............................FACT" And it is.. And just for the record, I believe that GJ's achievement was greater than Cotts....not for entertainment but to drag us out of League one, into the championship and very nearly getting us to premiership, with a Wembley playoff..all in two seasons.....but that's my opinion of which I'm entitled to.........and I'm not saying it's fact!
