Hardly. I'm Scottish (or 'Scotch' as Loiner likes to say) and don't give a flying bollock about England's failed World Cup bid. FIFA is a totally corrupt and unaccountable organisation and it's just not on in this day and age.

But no one had an issue with it until the last World Cup bid. It's always been this way, and everyone was happy until then. The fact that it's corrupt isn't cool, but then I don't think there's a way of stopping it, there will always be a way, whoever is in charge. There's way too much money involved...

Well yes England did throw the toys out of the pram. I wasn't going to say anything in case stopmeandslapme accused me of being anti English again <whistle>

There have been several fixed games in both La Liga and Serie A this year. We take bets on mad outcomes, we watch the game and watch the hilarious attempt to make it look like the two teams are actually competing, just for the laughable goals and 20 minutes at the end of back passes. We report it to the governing bodies and anti corruption units. They re-watch the obviously bent games themselves - then declare that there is no reason to suspect match fixing and do nothing. It's been the worst year for corruption in a while and nobody wants to stamp it out, even the anti corruption units are in on it.

The problem is that it discredits the league so they are unwilling to report it unless there's a massive police investigation.

<laugh> I know Mick, all your posts are full of anti-English propaganda!!

england were less corrupt than everyone else....doesn't make it right but it did give them a genuine cause for a grievance. As soon as the result was announced England should have pulled out of that stupid friendly in Thailand or wherever it was.

Not really, that's like saying "I only raped her a little bit", they were just as bad, they just got shafted <ok>

I called you anti-English once because of something you said, can't remember what. The English/British (BBC) media discussing FIFA corruption is hardly "throwing the toys out of the pram". Why shouldn't the corruption be reported?

Any chance of some tips next time there's a fixed game on?

Discussing is definitely not the right word...

EVERY SINGLE ****ING PAPER/NEWS REPORT/... HAVE BEEN GOING ON ABOUT IT FOR AGES.

There's nothing new, they thought it'd finally be their turn after wasting millions year after year, since deep down they knew it was corrupt but didn't say anything to not upset Fifa. Now that the Triesman case and Panorama have been breaking their balls, there's no chance of us getting it in the foreseeable future <ok>

Yep I ****ed that sentence up, my head hurts...

Should have been: After the Triesman and Panorama allegations, there was no chance of us getting it then or in the foreseeable future <ok>

I called Stephen Fry and Jeremy Clarkson twats <laugh>

Stephen Fry is a smug twat and I'd like to burn down the next media outlet which publicises anything he has written on Twitter.
