As I've already said, kids with Downs are likely to be at least as happy as those without. However they can be a lot more challenging to parent. So anybody who would abort a foetus with Downs is making a purely selfish decision. Nothing to do with the child's quality of life, just self-preservation.

I want my children to be as fulfilled in life as they can be, and I'll do anything to make sure their options are open and they can reach their potential. I would therefore be happy to end a pregnancy if my wife and I were worried about the health of the baby. This can be anything, mental defects, physical defects, etc...
Now this is only if I was aware of the situation. If I wasn't and the baby came out, I would still love it, it's my child ffs.
Whereas you guys selfishly want the child to come out at any point, because of some weird obligation you've forced upon yourselves that every cell of every foetus is sacred (one of them could turn out to be the 2nd Coming), even if it means a sub-standard life for that child, just so you feel no guilt that you feel society would inflict on you.
