Midfielders Barry Robson and Willo Flood are potential targets for Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes.

Robson joined Sheffield United on a short-term contract in January, while Flood has been with Dundee United for the past two seasons.

The duo were previously team-mates at United, Celtic and Middlesbrough.

Flood had two loan spells at Tannadice before he was sold by Cardiff City to Celtic, who had already signed Robson from the Tangerines.

And the pair, who are free to join new clubs this summer, were signed by Gordon Strachan when he was in charge of Boro.

Robson, 34, also lists Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Middlesbrough and Vancouver Whitecaps among his previous clubs and has won 17 caps for Scotland.

Dubliner Flood, 28, featured for Republic of Ireland's Under-21 side.

McInnes, who became Aberdeen manager in April, was also at one time a Dundee United team-mate of Robson's.

Quite a few names being linked with possible moves to Abergreen before the transfer window opens.

Barry Robson ( ex Celt )
Willo Flood (ex celt )
Rab Douglas (ex celt )
Paddy McCourt(ex celt )

**** me all we need to do now is entice Shaun Malloney back to where his career began & we are half way to wining the SPL next season. <doh>

Actually i was speaking to an old guy in the pub about three weeks ago & he says Barry Robson has bought a house in inverurie beside him & it is a done deal with his move to AFC, just waiting to be confirmed.

At the age of 34 now does anyone think he could still do a decent job for AFC ( shouldn't be to hard compared with some of the ****e we've had in the past)

Hmmmm, if you got all of those targets (except Rab Douglas) I might be inclined to back you to come 2nd again this year - although my fingers and pride are burned from all those 0-0's of last year.

Aberdeen really need a new keeper to oust Jamie Langfield if we are to make any impresion on a top six (two)<whistle> finish next season.

Elliot Parish ex Aston Villa then Cardiff City whom he never played a first team game for (sent out on loan to Wycome, played twice last season) doesn't exactly sound inspiring.

Considering Fraser Forster never played much at Newcastle & Darren Randolph had the same sort of career before joining Motherwell, Parish might just be what we are looking for.
