Premier League, Pittodrie. At last, at long, long last, Aberdeen's hopeless season comes to an end. This game is only really notable for two things: 1) Darren Mackie will captain the team on his final appearance. "This is my 13th full season at the club, so it has been a long time and it has been a huge part of my life. I love the club and I'm still a supporter at heart, so it will be sad to leave." That's quite sweet (and increasingly rare) and it'll be sad to see the back of such a loyal - if only infrequently effective - servant. I maybe overstretched myself by saying this game would be notable for two things. Roll on quarter to five. Let the misery end.
Twenty minutes gone, 0-0. It's too sunny outside to watch this game unfold (through the medium of BBC text). I'll need to trust in the gods that all will be well in my absence......
Full-time: 0-0 ER - my sources at the BBC tell me that there were 10,761 people at the event and early satellite pictures seem to confirm this estimation. All things considered, that's actually not too bad. If I lived twenty feet from Pittodrie, I'm not sure anything could have induced me to stump up cash to watch this game. "Darren Mackie, captaining the Dons in his final appearance for the club, missed two chances in the first half...." A fitting end, I can't help feeling.
