The 20 year old Ajax player collapsed with heart problems during a friendly against Werder last weekend, and has now been diagnosed with serious and permanent brain damage due to lack of oxygen, no chance of recovery.

Thoughts to him, his family and friends and colleagues, absolutely horrible. It doesn't matter how young and fit you are it seems.

Awful turn of events..... 20 years old.

Just shows that your time can come out of the blue whatever age you are..... So enjoy life and your loved ones and friends while you can.

Just seems to be more prevalent these days, perhaps the levels of fitness expected nowadays expose such weaknesses more easily. Muamba was really very lucky indeed...
