#nufc Hearing that former Plymouth whizzkid Aaron Spear has left Newcastle United today.

Bit of a shame if true, had high hopes for him (and his Rooney neck) and he was starting regularly enough with the U18s.

I thought he was going to be one for the first team when we got him. Sometimes its just not to be.

This, had potential but it seems he just doesn't have that ability to cut the mustard or it simply didn't work out. Good luck to him anyways!

Obviously they felt he just wouldn't be able to cut it at Premier League level. So many of the kids who are streets ahead at an early age end up hitting a wall after a couple of years. Hope he can fashion a good future for himself somewhere else.

Anyone remember Leigh Mills? He was the young Swindon lad who went to Spurs? Supposed to be the next big thing.

His old man drinks in my local and we nearly got him to sign for our Sunday League side. Now thats a fall from grace.

Drugs and drink an issue no doubt

Tell me about it, my mate was Darren Bents room mate at Ipswich youth level, doesn't even get a game for the local pub side now!!!

A friend of mine went to school with Darren Bent and aparently back then he was shocking at scoring and rarely missed a tad opposite from fall from grace

Im sure Aaron Spear was meant to have loads of potential when we signed him, but was injured seriously a couple of times.
