Sorry but I disagree when it comes to City - theyve probably had more accruate exclusives in the past 3 years about us than anyone else. Especially udner the Pearson and Barmby era, someone there was defintiely feeding stories to them. If this story turns out to be true then obviously they have managed to gets these lines of comms back up again cos nobody else is reporting it.
They were getting fairly accurate stuff, but most of what they've published recently has been complete bollocks.
I've seen people post that opinion so many times, yet never actually back it up. I'm not saying you're wrong I just can't remember ever seeing an instance where they've had insider information yet people are always saying how they know exactly what's going on with us.
To be honest you've probably just read me post it - Ive said it loads of times It was mainly transfer stories. They were first with Hobbs, Fryatt, McKenna and Koren off the top of my head. I seem to recall they were also first on the Paul Hart story which is widely assumed to be total gospel until his agent frigged it up by telling Nige about it and then he declared he'd also be interested. Essentially I suspected that Adam was feeding them stories or certainly someone close to him.
Most papers don't employ sports journalists, they pay freelancers with 'contacts' for their information and then publish it - you'll find the same names cropping up in the same papers though as they have a good relationship with them, both get a mutual benefit from it and trust each other. You can't discredit a full newspaper based on one bit of published news - as you will probably understand that there will be freelancers out there who have very good contacts, and others that just completely wing it, hence why you'll find some great news sometimes and sometimes it's a load of rubbish. The Daily Mirror and The Daily Mail tend to be the best for their info from decent freelancers. The likes of The Sun are terrible, usually making up the most sensational story they can, nicking news from the grapevine or simply publishing something that is basically common knowledge to everyone anyway. There is a story on the Mirror's website today about QPR being interested in Hooper, written by the same bloke who told me a few days ago that Hooper had told Norwich he'd prefer to join them. Things change very quickly in football. I was going to post yesterday that he'd mentioned that QPR had joined the race for Hooper... basically although Hooper would prefer Norwich, it sounds like who ever is willing to stump up the cash for him will get him no matter what Hooper's preference is. Forest are apparently looking at both Hooper and Austin too.
