Aaron Martin

I really like Martin. Has impressed all of the times he has played.

 

Seabourne let's too many balls bounce rather than attacking them and this causes problems. Having said that Jose and Davis let a couple bounce between them.... Tranmere and Walsall spring to mind, yet Jose always fills me with confidence.

I've only seen Martin play twice, but he looks a little more assured than Seabourne.

 

I think Martin is being gradually eased into the 1st team, as towards the end of the season he was coming on more and more for longer when we were winning etc

Much better than Seaborne, who I don't particualry rate and I think martin will be used much more this year, clearly Adkins rates him as he has stated so on many occasions

 

Technically Aaron is Fontes back up, so may not get too many appearances. Seabourne is OK but still learning the trade.

I think this is likely to be Jaidi's last season for us and over the course of the season he will play less and less. It's then up to Seabourne & Martin to fight for that place and personally I believe Martin will win that race.
Of course we could sign someone brilliant and we'd of all forgotten the name Aaron Martin in 3 years

 

Agreed with most of you, Aaron looks very good and certainly better than Seaborne - huge potential and no doubt will go far given a chance

IF we sign Jack Cork, i presume he will slot into midfield rather than defence which would mean one of spiderman or hammond missing out but versatile to drop back into defence.

we will have a strong midfield

 

It would mean hammond missing out. He's not good enough for the NPC.

 

Hi RWMK, I'm with you with regards to Aaron's ability, he reminds me a lot of Matt Mills and a young Mark Wright and I think he has plenty of time on his side to develop into a top Centre Back and can only get better with the likes of Fonte and Jaidi to learn from

 

He will come good.. but he needs to get a season under his belt of competative football .. so i hope we loan him to a league 1 side.. say chesterfield!! he wil be a first team starter!

 

Agree with you about Martin think he has a lot of potential and it's a shame about the number of starts last season, hopefully a few more this season! Certainly think he's better than seabourne!
