Possibly - Adkins has always said Martin is a long-term project. There is no hurry as far as I can see - if he gets a full season under his belt and comes back twice the player; he will be starter for us. Centre backs don't tend to peak untiln their late 20's in any case. If Palace are paying his wages; we win all round. Hope he makes the grade; I used to watch him when he played for Eastleigh alongside Tom Jordon (son of Jo). Have always thought he has done well when he's played. His problem is that he is right footed so he is always in Fonte's shadow.

At what point does this article slate AAron Martin, i was just asking for peoples opinions on his loan move? I think he is useless, but this article doesn't slate him.
He`s always looked good to me when I`ve seen him. He seems quite quick, and he seems to love playing for Saints, and as mentioned previously, he`s never let us down - let`s cut him some slack.
But it is showing what an overstatement it was for other Saints fans to say he will play for England.
We don't want to throw the kid in the deep end of the Premier League.

Must admit SS11's comments on the single player seem to border on an idée fixe. Martin appears to be the sole subject the poster is interested in.
