Aaron Martin

Has come in at a difficult time, but I think he has played very well at the back - he has done nothing wrong, and is deserving of a little run in the side now
Definetely has a lot of promise, he is still young and still learning and he is only going to improve

Totally agree, thought he had a solid game and worked well with Jos
Shame he didn't put the late chance away to cap off a good day
He really is going to be a great CH in the future

 

He will be will become a good player, he has come on so much since he joined us. But we still need another defender.

But yes, he's done fine. Jos is the type of defender that can forge a partnership with anybody though, Aaron needs a leader alongside him. Still can't wait for Fonte to return.

 

He didn't get a mention all game on the commentary because he didn't put a foot wrong all game apart from miss that open goal Well he is a defender!

 

we can excuse him that goal!

 

All that matters is that he kept them out at the other end !

Well, actually he was transferred from non-league Eastleigh, a couple of seasons ago, but yes, I'm sure he benefitted from some Saints coaching. At the time I thought it was really good of ex-Saint Ian Baird, to effectively weaken his own team, by having a word with Pardew to sign him, and thereby progress the lad's career.

 

Haha i hope that's sarcasim because I would bite your arse off to have the build and height of him being 20/21 years old!!

 

Agreed, he is a tank!

Whenever I go to St. Mary's he is always warming up, for the full 90 minutes - great to see. He seems a very professional and ambitious lad, and although I doubted his overall ability a few weeks ago, the past couple of games he has impressed me.

 

i hardly ever see him not warming up! very dedicated and ambitious . . . fair play! he is playing for the club he loves, so he is going to have this dedication

 

Agreed he has done very well at a young age for a centre back. I think that composure on the ball is an ability he will need to develop, but that can come from experience and confidence.

 

It's not so much a bad thing from me.. But i see the size of fonte.. hooiveld and Jaidi and he is on the skinny side... He doesn't have alot of strength.. but as said he is young so i trust it is something that he will Improve on!! Martin Will be a Tank in a couple of years and for sure be representing us in the PL

 

I see Martin as a major part to play in Saints future and possibly even internationally if he continues to work hard, listen to advise and keep his nose clean!

 

agreed! he has developed so much in the 18months since his first appearence!

 

Martin looks good when he gets the opportunity..will definately be part of Saints' future.
