Think you make a very good point here Joey B about Martin's performance last night and also an area in his game that needs improving. He did put Foxy under unnecessary pressure several times last night. It was clear for everyone to see Fox had words with Martin to that effect. He sold him short several times. No doubt Martin did well last night with the aerial battle using his height advantage. However on the ground his footwork and passing was left lacking. Will come with time but he can't afford to expose team mates whilst he learns.
Martin was using his left foot alot last night, when he is right footed - you wonder why his passing was weak at times?
Yeah as you said his passing was weak with his right foot. Always makes the case to play a naturally left footed player in the left sided position. Requires lots of practice to be good with both feet
He made most of his passes with his right foot. He's never been a ball player. Also Miller won his fair share of balls against him in the air, he doesn't position himself well enough to get a jump on his opponent. Jaidi does this well, his opponent can't get off the floor so he wins every header.
just got backn from the match (live a long way away) but following recent criticism of AM I paid particular attention to him. I thought he played particularly well and think that as a young lad he has a bright future espescially if he can keep a regular place in a winning team...incidentally I felt that there are promissing signs that we are going to restore our early season form although, I haven't had inclination to reat all the threads, agree with Beddy that mid-field need to shoot more often
Good results for us as Boro were winning and would have jumped to 4th, but are still 5 points behind us. Don't want everyone crowding behind us so one bad result pushes us down several places.
