A thought about the Carroll negotiations

Looks like we're being linked with Gomis from Lyon this morning. Could be a sign that the Carroll talks are going nowhere, or could be ****ty paper talk we shall have to see. I'd probably prefer Gomis though.

 

Decent player is Gomis and a much more realistic option financially. Carroll a much better option for me but the odds are stacked against it I reckon.

I take it Liverpool have never heard the phrase "too late the horse has already bolted".

 

there is no way they are getting £20m for him i'd cut there losses and take what we had already offered them. The price will come down the longer we wait.

Just wondering if AC Milan might put a bid in for him, they were linked a while back and they've just lost Ibrahimovic so it would make sense.

Still, Gomis was linked with us ages and ages ago, was he not? Probably just journos looking around their own trash for a story!

 

I am beginning to think that the Carroll offer was an elaborate wind up all along. Mike Ashley saw an opportunity to strenghten his hand in negotiations for somebody else by being able to say that they really wanted Carroll, not Gomis or whoeve, but supposed he might take Gomis or whoever if the price was right. It also had the added bonus of giving us all another opportunity to laugh at liverpool

 

I think the club will have an interest in bringing back Carroll, however the amount of press that it is receiving is probably diverting attention from any other deals we are trying to get done.

 

Gomis was linked with us back in 2008, we eventually signed Xisco. Mores the pity.
