After having had our first points of the season stolen from us at the death just three days ago the Chairboys are back on the horse this time at Adams Park against the promotion favourite Hornets looking to kick start their season having now lost eight games in a row including our cup defeat but on the positive side after tonight we will have been up against 8 of the top 11 in the present table including the one in the cup, we have never beaten the Hornets in six attempts but also we have never lost against them at Adams Park our first meeting was at Vicarage Road way back in December 1959 for a FA Cup 2nd round game when we lost 5-1 maybe Ron can tell us about that game as I was only 3 months old at the time. Gaz is spoiled for choice with players coming back from injury and will be making a few changes to freshen things up but top scorer Scott Kashket should start former Hornets striker Uche Ikpeazu came through his return to the side unscathed on Saturday and could feature, while Dominic Gape, Ryan Tafazolli and Jason McCarthy are all back in full training and come into contention. There is a choice of viewing tonight with this one being live on Sky Sports as well as ifollow and we are all hoping for a good display from the lads and getting our first points on the board
I'm afraid to watch this but I will probably watch from behind the sofa. Prediction 0-7 . Let's get this one over with
Still have to pinch myself that we are in the championship, however I predict a long and painful 90 minutes
You have it covered as long as Preston win. Worst result for us (betting wise) would be a draw. Although I would be more than happy with that
TEAM NEWS: Adebayo Akinfenwa starts and takes the captain's armband. Wycombe: Allsop, Grimmer, Jacobson, Stewart, Wheeler, Kashket, Knight, Horgan, Thompson, Akinfenwa, Adeniran.
The reason we aren't confident is because we lost 3-0 to Yeovil in their only season in the Championship. If we had won that game we would have got automatic promotion. You are the underdogs. We have been underdogs many times and won. I am dreading this game.
Yes they are a nice bunch CW. I expect we will lose but whatever happens, that was a great first half for us and augurs well. We have had 4 clear cut chances. 2 requiring good saves, one a last ditch block from a defender and one that was more difficult to miss than score with the goalie diving the wrong way
