So was Spurned-cat's post about me. Just because it wasn't leveled at you doesn't prevent it from being abusive. I'm telling you it was abusive. I beg to differ. He wasn't simply saying that what I had written was crap (although that would, in itself, have been completely out of order), he was saying that everything I write is crap. Well, he can **** right off! He's been here 5 minutes, and already he's slagging fellow posters off. That doesn't bode well for the long term, in my book. And if he's the same bloke who used to post on the old 606, I can assure you, I won't be the last person he manages to piss off.
I don't "save" anything, NSS. I retaliate when someone abuses me. If, in the future, he wants to "save" himself the hassle of having someone throw verbal punches at him, I suggest he doesn't start the fight.
I wasn't throwing accusations at anybody, HIAG. I merely suggested that both of you keep your powder dry for the Wum's.
I wasn't having a pop, NSS. I'm tired, irritated (on account of a sodding abscess in my jaw), and generally pissed-off. Somebody give me a gun and I'll end it all, now. It's the humane thing for me to do to myself.
Shoot yourself HAIG...? Lucky you're not bentley ... you wouldn't have a hope in hell of hitting yourself!!! hope the abscess gets better in time to enjoy a jar or 2 for the fulham match
I sympathise. I've had bit of tooth trouble myself in the past - not much fun. Mind you, getting them rearranged playing Rugby probably didn't help!
I really cant believe what a fuk up Arsenal and Spurs are making of this race for third place, must admit I couldn't see Spurs failing to beat Villa though. Amazing, its gonna be an exciting final day!!
I'm already nervous...not sure how I'll last the week out...then IF we come 4th we then have a week or so of putting up with gooner smugness while waiting for the CL final and the possibility of chelsea smugness or we could come 5th and be gutted straight off or come 3rd which requires you to screw up (again) and us not to screw up (again)...I hate weeks like this!!!!
It's irritating because we dominated even with 10 men. With 11, we almost certainly would have won. Villa really are ****e though. If McDogleash stays, they'll go down next year, for sure.
Agree with this. As for others, I think some people formed their opinion ages ago and seem to only be interested in negatives. In those circumstances only evidence that supports their opinion seems to be considered and everything else discarded. That is very sad. I too am very unhappy about our dip in form, but I also take into consideration that in order to have one we must have been rather good at one point (as again we've showed in patches in the last few matches). We can't legislate against fluke goals (let's not forget that was about the only way Villa would score), the goals we scored that were incorrectly ruled 'offside' and the other ludicrous ref decisions (as the Stoke away match the worst set of decisions ever?)... and no, it doesn't all 'balance out' over a season! Without those bad decisions and a few justified goals perhaps we wouldn't be having all this negativity... and yet those things could have gone for us on exactly the same performances we already had without getting any better! Goodness, wouldn't our season have gone completely differently if that idiot had been sent off at ManC for his (later confirmed) stamp on Parker instead of staying on to score a penalty? Yes of course all teams have to carry on after these events, but there is no doubt in my mind that we have had a worse batch of them than most, and teams like ManU hardly have this problem at all!
Thanks SL, at last some common sense. An antidote to the hysterical bleatings of people who should know better, not glory-hunters but real fans who have supported the club for decades. If being in the top four means we become as bad as plastic Scousers, Chavs, Goonies and Mancs (with a sense of entitlement that is bewildering,) then I for one would prefer to be mid-table. I have always maintained that we were a real club with real fans, disagreeing totally with the "fickle" name tag. I am finding it harder to do so every day...
There it is, again! That old accusation that if you dare to criticise the manager, somehow you are not "a real fan." I could turn that around, and say that those who do not demand the absolute best for the club are not fanatics (which is from where the term "fan" is derived), but I don't, because I would not dare to presume that every supporter of Spurs should share my views in exactly the same way as I do, and that should they not do so, they are not a "real" fan like me. We are not Everton or Aston Villa, or even Liverpool. We do actually have a realistic chance at competing for better than 5th in the EPL, and we do have the quality to challenge for the title (whether or not we have a realistic chance of winning it). It is a proper response to question the manager's competence given the position we were in before Xmas, and the dire capitulation we suffered. You may not share my view that Redknapp has shown that his limitations cannot extract the best from our current squad, as you are entitled to do so; but to suggest that I (and many thousands like me) are not "real" fans because we no longer have faith in Redknapp, and for very good reasons, is out of order.
HIAG you are the one who was predicting world domination for Spurs when things were going well. Well we have the same players and the same manager. Now we are fit for the scrapheap? I am not suggesting anybody, including you are not real fans; On the contrary. But it's the fact that you are that makes this all the more confusing. As for the "f" word; That seems pretty undeniable from where I'm sitting.
Indeed, Chrips, I was. But that was before Redknapp showed his true colours, and went off chasing an imaginary dream, letting us fall by the wayside. I wouldn't mind betting that his experiments with our formations and player-positioning was a misguided attempt to impress the FA that he could out-Roy Roy for tactics. It failed miserably, and the second half of our season suffered hugely as a result of it. What really angers me about Redknapp is the fact that he had the evidence for himself just how well we could play, and had he stuck to the script we'd have been challenging for the title. I had every right to be optimistic (as many of us were, not just me). How was I or any of us to know that Redknapp would hit the self-destruct button? Sorry, but I am done with the 'Arry worship. That doesn't mean that I have given up on the club - quite the reverse, in fact. I want Redknapp out because I actually do believe that we do have the squad to challenge for the title, and to be looking at collecting 70+ points every season.
Harry worship is pretty lllogical considering the circumstances, but so is bashing him any chance you get. We played well, we had a slump; So did Man U, so did City So did nearly every Club around us. We ARE punching above our weight and long may it continue, but to think we somehow have a right to success, with our level of investment and wage struture, is naive. We have a TEAM that can challenge, but we are a long way from having a squad that competes with the top clubs. In the meantime I'll just carry on like we always have, enjoying the thrill of supporting a team that tries to play great football, often succeeds but sometimes fails. NOT a souless machine supported by glory hunters that bashes out trophies but soon stops being flavour of the month when they dry up. They love winning. That is ALL they need. I love my club: Win lose or completely **** things up.
