I found something that says Man City are the only team ever, to have been relegated the season after winning the league. The season that relegation happened, apparently they still outscored every team in the division. It doesn't say how many goals that was though.

 

They must have had one shocking defence!

1957/58. They scored 104, conceded 100 and finished 25th.

 

According to the Football League table for that season, they finished 5th (with that goal tally you mention), there was only 22 teams in the league and you lot finished 21st Sheff Wed bottom.
