Hard to shine on loan to QPR last season! Added to which his season was ended by injury soon after we played them at Loftus Road. He is sharp and has good technique; would be a big improvement on Chris Martin IMO and might well thrive in our team.
Ah, according to the daily fail. John Guidetti suffered some sort of injury where he lost all feeling in his right leg and is short of match fitness and also will struggle to get the form back that he had for a long time!
I think Owen is a distinct possibility. We have three strikers of similar style in Holt, Morison and Martin leaving only Jackson to offer any real alternative since Vaughan departed.
Macheda is dogshit, no better than Arturo Lupoli who was also dogshit despite having a cool sounding name.
I don't know, it was only a year ago he scored a Champions League hat-trick against decent opposition.
You definitely do NOT want Macheda. He did absolutely nothing when on loan at QPR. I'd even take Bothroyd over Macheda.
So, seems as if a striker and maybe gk will be coming in this week. But won't be guidetti as no contact has been made and have no interest in him this summer, no more defenders or midfielders to come in by the sounds of it and so that rules out biglia
Was never going to be biglia IMO he is on record as saying European football is a minimum requirement for his next move
shhhhhh! If you say that to loud a certain Mr Huges will be offering £10m for him? Fits his criteria !
I know for a fact that both Steer and Rudd are searching for loan clubs but because they were told so late, most clubs have got their keepers sorted. It is both a case of hoping for an injury somewhere and if we get someone in. Therefore one target is 100% a goalkeeper. Im gutted if the biglia one is dead. Guidetti would be good but id like someone permanently rather than loan (unless with a view to permanent in the summer or jan).
This is the year we really need to stay up, the tv money gets ridiculous and I'm sure I read somewhere that the team that finIshes bottom next season will earn more from the deal than Man City did by winning it last year. So that in mind I wouldn't be totally against bringing in someone like Guidetti (if he's fit of course) on loan for a year if Hootun, Chester and the rest of them think they have the quality to bag us a dozen or so goals this season. People laughed at WBA taking that Lukaku fella on loan from Chelsea for the season but after two game he sounds like he's been a real handful and looks set to do well given a good run of games. I just hope it's an interesting signing who excites and can really shake it up and brings the hunger and determination to prove themselves, and not someone like bloody Jay Bothroyd who averages about one 'unplayable' game a season over the course of his career. I trust Hootun to sort us out orlroit
Pound to a penny he signs for Stoke, can just see him in the box with those hoof balls raining down on him.
And I bet if he has a decent run of games he'll bang a few in as well. Big gamble though, and certainly not one I'd want us to be interested in.
The rumours of us signing this Abdellaoue fella just don't seem to want to go away. I must confess I know very little about him and the only time I've seen him was in the Norway V England friendly where he was largely quiet. Anyone else know anything about him?
Which one is it we're after, as there appear to be two of them, brothers in fact - Mostafa and Mohammed - both of whom sound pretty decent.
This is starting to worry me, there aren't many good strikers out there in the PL available for 5m or less...and quite frankly a whole load of horror scenarios are emerging in my mind...Frazier Campbell...Macheda...this Arsenal Korean dude (who was so bad they barely played him)...aside from Guidetti, who contrary to what is reported in this thread, was out injured with a viral infection which prevented him from playing against England for Sweden in the Euro's. Chelsea - None (Lukaku has gone out) Man Utd (No chance with Rooney out) Man City - Potentially Guidetti Arsenal - Korean dude (no thanks!) and Chamakh (Jackson is better trust me) Who on earth would sell a striker for 5m to one of their rivals, unless they were a) crap, and b) useless. Seriously hope this isn't the case, as the only one I would go near is Guidetti.
