    Saints said about 4 seasons ago they didn't have the money to upgrade the PA system at that time. That can't be excuse now. It's always been crap, but I suspect the alternative is one that booms out god awful pre-match "uplifting anthems" at ear-splitting levels. So, in many ways, mumbled silence is golden.

    Anyway, I'm pretty sure the Police control room has an over-ride on the PA that can make emergency announcements much louder/clearer.

    Can't remember them testing recently though? When was the last "stewards, stand down" at SMS? They were often a highlight of a game at the Dell.

    A few of us commented that we couldn't hear what the chap was saying.

    All the people that watch their mobiles for updates instead of watching the pitch would be the first to warn I would think.

    I sat close to half way in Kingsland at the pre season friendly and couldn't hear a word.
    I've sat in most areas of the stadium over the years and have found the PA pretty clear in other areas

    I was at college with a bloke whose surname was Diver. We called him Muff which he didn't appreciate.
