    Fair enough.
Are either of our mods going, and if not who will be representing us? I think Nick has ruffled too many feathers, and if neither Super or LB is going my vote would be for Dickp.

I am happy for the moderators to speak, but will go along with people's wishes.

It took some time some sidestepping and a few backwards steps by you Rich but we got there in the end.
All I wanted from the start was the same seat for this board that the trust offered ITTV - it took 140 posts to get it but hey ho. In future perhaps Razil if he is not pressing the flesh on other sites can pay us the curtesy of a visit. It's not that I don't want to talk to the monkey but the organ grinder could at least not show contemptible arrogance by swerving us altogether.

T, I have a feeling that when Raz came on, about a year ago, he wasn't happy that he was given a hard time..... I think he expected a shower of rose petals <ok>

Rik- it was you who referred to some of the Richard Murray Cheerleaders as quote "Charlton thought leaders".

Nor have you ever, in your 200 'final' posts across various sites on the subject, ever addressed HOW exactly you intend to get Duchatelet to the table with not so much a baseball bat and more a rolled up copy of the Dandy, hidden behind your back.

Your entire message to Duchatelet post waffle shop next week seems to be

"Roland, please come and talk to us because we are all nice Liberal pro Europe left wing numpties, and we drink your £2 bovril"

Wise up man- it won't work.

It baffles me. The trust builds a pretend empire based on figures that are massaged more than Dominic Strauss Kahnn and expect a victors welcome on here?

Go out and earn our respect. If you can win this board over you can win the 90% of cafc fans that think your nothing more than pompous windbags.

Guys - sorry for the late reply but I had no opportunities to log on yesterday.

As Rik says, there has been an invite to speak at the meeting. Unfortunately there are a few mitigating reasons why I shouldn't speak. As I'm in the UK next week I plan to attend the event, though I'm not overly keen (won over) by it as of today.

If someone would like to put the views across for the forum then I'm happy to 'pass the buck' over as it were. DickP and Nick have both shown an interest in being our representative so 1) Are you guys still happy to do so? 2) I urge all questions to be directed in them.

For those on Not606 attending, I will be around on the night so don't be shy. I'll be wearing a white suit and holding a single red rose.

The more important question - will the option be there to buy a beer for those there?

Hopefully see you there, SuperC. I'm not sure that there's one message which is exclusive to not606. Renewing season-tickets must be a matter for the individual. I probably won't, but will attend some games. If the trust want to engage Katrien in dialogue then good luck with that. They'd probably get more response from Sam Bartram's statue, but that's up to them. There should be only one objective, to free Charlton from the hideous Network which has consumed our club, by any legal means, and however long it takes.

Agreed, Billy - but for those that can't attend and in the unlikely event all views aren't put across, everyone feel free to direct your thoughts in this thread and we will see to it they're answered (as best as we can).

my main thoughts are that we need this lot gone. the owners are a sham. i'd rather go down playing the kids rather than the tourists we've been given.

everyone knows why they're so bad so my thoughts are more on what we can do to help move them on. they are :

    • hit them in the pocket, don't buy season tickets, grub, merchandise. 1000 non renewals will cost the deuche £300000. he'll understand that.
    • try to attract as much media attention to the fans discontent as possible. i fear RD and KM are so far up their own arses as to what a good job they are doing that they don't notice whats going on on the forums/twitter/facebook. they probably don't understand the words to the singing. "we want roland out" to them probably comes across as though we all want to do the "okey-cokey" with them at the players meal.
    • the home based players need to know we still support them. not sure how we can distinguish this between them and the luzor as he's always where the players are.
i had two free tickets on tuesday. i could not give them away for free in the half an hour before kick off. people are starting to give up already.

The media one is tough because I've raised the issue to colleagues but RD nor KM are not interested in any correspondence with the national press currently. The only way we'll be able to garner interest is if we take drastic measures and ''force'' the club to respond.

Until then it's a non story. A chairman who fires managers left right and centre, and refuses to put his money in his pocket is a story told 10's of times over the country. That's why Tuesday's meeting or any subsequent action has to be news worthy, and not a strongly worded letter from CAST. If that's the case, the best bet of it getting picked up is the News Shopper or the SLP. And that won't bother Roland much.

Definitely some food for thought on this thread and I think right now that's exactly what we need. If there is a solution to the current issues that face us then it is unlikely to be found in one individual or one individual group (forum, Supporters Club, Trust whatever) but rather by harnessing the intelligence of our whole support base.

    That's the idea of the meeting, it isn't a recruitment drive, there isn't a top table panel of all the same old faces who will be the only voices heard etc it is genuinely an attempt to bring together the broad and disparate groups that make up our support base. It would be brilliant if as many contributors from Not606 can make it and if we want to ensure as broad representation as possible then we need to get the 5,000 flyers we've printed out - as I've posted on CL & ITTV, if you have a spare half hour between 2-3pm tomorrow then please email;

    Nice one SE9

Also i don't think its a good idea for mods from any site to say things on anyone's behalf, its ALL of ours club, so if you can go then do so.

If you cant im sure then people will raise any issues you want raised

Today's result should not change the intent and purpose of the meeting. But the fact that network signings Watt and Bulot were the best players on the pitch by a mile is significant and will inevitably take some of the heat out of the anti-Duchatelet sentiment. For all the mistakes the owner may have made, many will now be wondering if perhaps he is getting more right than he is getting wrong?

I'd now predict that what will come out of the meeting will not be a boycott or any co-ordinated protest or walk-out at home matches, but a renewed attempt by the Supporters Trust to use the strength of feeling over recent weeks to re-establish a meaningful dialogue between club and supporters.

Brilliant result today, and good news for the meeting - if some people were seeing it as an opportunity to come along and just vent about recent poor results this might give a bit of perspective.

    Procedure for the meeting now published here;

So have we all seen the clubs message? All CAFC fans will now be able to watch a video of the VIP meeting (held on Tuesday) prior to the CAST arranged meeting on Wednesday.

From memory - I do not remember this ever being the case. It's smacks of insincereity from the club, who will be media savvy and fob off the VIP fans with carefully prepared answers.

    In my opinion.

Is anyone from this forum going to give a "concise prepared speech"?

Fiendishly clever move to spike the guns before the Supporters Trust meeting. Whether the tactic will work is another matter. But at least after a clusterf**k of comms disasters, it seems the club has taken steps to secure some quality PR advice from someone who has clearly been around the block a few times.

An announcement on Wednesday afternoon that Chris Eagles is signing on loan will be a similarly adroit piece of stage management.
