For the first time SR I agree with you we look a bit lost in regards to who we are and when Tony can in he said about building a club, now the romantic side has looked to have gone a bit tits up lets build it from scratch with the player who want to be here and build it.
Never understand a fan/supporter who wants his team to get relegated? Are we saying we should just lose the rest of our games on purpose then? Strange!
Like what mate? I dont see them but i suppose thats because it doesnt directly affect me? I want to se my/our team compete against the best the country has to offer, not against a bunch of ageing second rate players who cant do it anymore. but thats just me
Look I don't want us to go down and if we don't we still need to offload the dross and start building again, but let's be honest do you really see us not going down? Yesterday was the day when we lost the fight in my opinion as Norwich were there for the taking didn't look like scoring apart from 1chance in 2nd half and we failed simple as that.
That's only something a fan of a team hurtling towards the drop would say. Its a psychological defence mechanism. Similar to the Newkie fans on hearing that Remy wasn't signing for them, they immediately started saying that "he's a sh*t player anyway". There's nothing wrong with that by the way if it helps ease the pain. We live in an uncompromising World and I wouldn't begrudge any fellow homosapien any little scrap of comfort they can glean for themselves to ease their suffering. Truth is though: Barnsley away?!!!
Teams I would be disappointed in if I supported them, from what I have seen of them? QPR, Villa, Fulham, West Ham, Sunderland, Newcastle, Norwich, Stoke, Wigan. May not be exactly 50%, but close. Actually think Southampton and Reading are exceeding expectations, with good spirit. Swansea pound for pound best team by a mile.
Why cant we be realistic in the prem then? I said 2 season ago that I'd be happy with 17th last year and 17th this year. Stay up and consolidate our position. We dont have to go down to do that. From then on we start looking at pushing forward and possibly up the table. Who the Fwant to watch the **** that is in the NPC?! I certainly dont and I have spent more than enough hard earned cash ding it over the past 15 years. NO..I dont agree with going down helping us in any way. It totally ****ed us last time we did it or have you forgotten that?
Well mate I have forgotten anything, but the year we came back up was special, the fanbase was one and we had grafters who wanted to play for the badge
Utter utter rubbish. We need to stay up. I heard rubbish like this in 95/96 season and we all knew what happend.
Qpr - Trying to tidy Marks mess Villa - Cutting costs Fulham - About where I would have expected West Ham - Been found out recently, but good for a promoted team Sunderland - Safe but dull Newcastle - Pards is always crap on his 2nd season Norwich - Doing well on a tight budget, hard to beat Stoke - Same old 6'4" efficient Stoke Wigan - Usual blue-print I don't see any dross, but then two years ago I was following my team round L1, & if I'm honest, I've seen better looking potato fields than some of those grounds, but I still wouldn't use the word 'dross.'
Mate it was only special because Tarbs, Ali & others were playing in the wrong league. What about the 14 seasons prior to that? We had many players who wanted to play for the badge. Gallen, Rowly Cookie Buz all wanted to play for the badge more than most of our championship winning team I'd guess. thats just a few but you're forgetting those that stuck with us when we went to L1 also. NO..still dont see any benifit of getting relegated what so ever. All it will do is cloud peoples idea of how good we actually are and make certain fans think we are suddenly anmazing again and that we should be aiming for Europe.!!
Could name over 25 players that were crap in those 15 years! Mark Hateley, Matt Brazier, Matthew Rose, Jamie Cureton, Tony Thorpe, Steffan Bailey, Arthur Gnohere, Georges Santos, Mauro Milanese, Sammy Youssouf, Dominic Shimmin, Paul Jones, Marc Nygaard, Zesh Rehman, Danny Cullip, Nick Ward, Daniel Nardiello, Rowan Vine, Gary Borrowdale, Marcus Bent, Bradley Orr, Rob Hulse, Petter Vaagan Moen, Leon Clarke, Pascal Chimbonda.
