Status quo relative to the top tier, but if we're able to pick up sponsorship dollars that might've otherwise gone to Everton (who, anecdotally, seem to be the most popular choice if you're choosing a team almost at random, but don't want to jump on the bandwagon of one of the titans) or other fashionable up-and-comers it's a net win. We should know a lot more this summer about what our future holds. Our new main shirt sponsorship will tell us quite a bit about our profile, and quite a bit about the board's ability to chase commercial revenue, the lack of which they have cited as one of Cortese's greatest failings. Our transfer dealings with the new injection of TV money will give us a good idea whether the priority is the team on the pitch, or paying back Katherina. Should make for a fun few months, melt-y down-y possibilities aside.
If anyone is on Facebook then be-friend the US Saints Supporters group, the Canadians and the Aussies too. There appears to be quite a few and are so incredibly keen that they deserve our support
Read through the first few pages then got bored so apologies if this has been said. But we really aren't in a bad position. Our form isn't great but teams form can change quickly a good xmas period and the talk on here will be top4/6. And also 6/7 years ago midtable in the prem seemed amazing.
Have you? That is a reasonable amount, although 50mill per year for a newly promoted side is probably what is required to get up the league. Maybe just a case that this round of players have not lived up to expectation.
Transfermarkt has us at about 150m spent since promotion...though that's somewhat offset by about 125m in player sales.
I am not a fan of football generally. I don't like the winning or the losing and draws don't affect me either. It is all about the interval / half time for me... Going forward Saints and especially the catering department need to concentrate more on the quality of the food served at the interval and get the cues shorter. I get very hungry at 3.45pm on Saturdays and I want this sorted out next financial year.
I saw this quote this morning, not related to football however I think it quite apt considering the thread title: "Since we cannot change reality, let's change the way we view it."
