Eire, point taken. But I never actually felt we were in a relegation dogfight. We always had enough points on the board and the ability to win enough games that would ensure we might not make top 6, but we were always going to stay out of the bottom 6 or 8 (just)!!

This time last year I put trust in Warnock now I am a sour bastard and the only way I will trust Mcdermott is if he gets us promoted :)

When McD arrived, we were in a relegation dogfight. I dont think we'd have stayed up under Warnock but thankfully we'll never know

How was he able to be League One Player of the Month for April if he "couldn't make the starting line-up of a Div 1 side?"

Well I read a few views from Oldham fans and they all said that they thought he was their best striker. They said they had a couple big names there on loan and the manager seemed scared to drop them in favour of Smith but most fans wanted to see Smith start pretty much every game because he was more influential when he did

Because he kept coming off the bench to play and scored three goals in 5 games <ok>

Ristac, that may be the plan with Smith - bring him on late when we need a goal and chuck balls into the box

Help us defend those late goals we tend to concede as well when the pressure is on and the ball is being hoofed at us.

Pretty sure I read that he only started 25 games for Oldham in two seasons.

In his interview I seem to recall McDermott was saying how Smith is a player who needs to start games in order to see the best of him? Seems a bit strange to say that if he's just going to use him as a substitute...
