I know "big names=box office" but what would happen if Chelsea finished 19th in the league - instead of Bolton or Blackburn?

Would the old cliché "too good to go down" miraculously apply then, based on a set of protectionist parameters yet to be devised? <doh>

Sink or swim, if it can happen to Walsall, Watford or Wigan, it should equally apply to the "big" clubs.

Moderators, can't we just have a fixed rant thread at the top of the page? It would be very therapeutic to have somewhere we could let off steam about our own particular peeve.

Sorry, Cromer - I can't get worked up about this one (although I would as soon as any attempt to stop promotion and relegation was proposed). Is my memory right in thinking that the Bolton chairman came out in favour of that when they were in the Prem? I wonder if he has the same opinion now.

6 group games in the so called Champions league, yes Champions. And yet in two of those games, Manure have fielded a team even they wouldn't dare put out in any Premier League fixture. Jeux Sans Frontiers meets Posers meets expansionism since the opening of the Iron Curtain.
All Bullshit, the lot of it.
 
The plan to have something like the top 6 or 8 teams in the CL is ridiculous.
To me the Champions should go into the CL, Cup Winners in the Cup Winners Cup and I would question any other cup as it is just an excuse to print money for the bigger clubs.
Also, it means fewer games on Sunday and more 3 0'clock kick offs on Saturday. I am 54 and it shows doesn't it? Coat!
 
I think that a bigger CL is the answer. The winner should be in a competition from first to last rather than dropping down into another competition because they got knocked out of the one above it! :steam:

Its not UEFA, its the clubs pushing it, probably the British ones.

Who allowed these clubs to take over in this country, the FA.

Seriously, I'm getting a bit sick and tired of all the worlds footballing ills being blamed on Sepp Blatter, FIFA and UEFA. No, they are not perfect but everyone should be looking a little closer to home when venting their spleen about the running of the game.
 
I'm taking this as a running rant thread for anyone who wants it.

Absolutely useless. You can't contact them, they don't do anything and they charge you hundreds for this privalege. They don't seem to be aware that phoning and using email is quicker than writing letters.

They make estate agents look trustworthy and competent.

My rant

People who stick pictures of someones face on a roundabout with happy birthday banners, THEN leave them there for weeks on end. ****ers.

Radio DJ's who try to be funny all the time. They are barely funny any of the time.

People who own cats, they **** on everyone elses lawn or drive except there own.

X Factor and ITV, low brow, unintelligent bilge for pretty much every second it is on.

Daytime TV, are housewives and the unemployed really that thick?

Awful British opera singers singing pop songs, just dreadful.

Eastenders and soaps, actors that cannot act and non distiguishable characters. AND they get paid lots of money for it!!!

Christians and in particular Right wing American Christians, they should be fed to lions for being stupid and lacking any sort of imagination.

Audiences clapping to live music to some form of beat (whilst it is playing)at middle England entertainmant events.
 
Carrabuh, you say many things I disagree with, but I cannot agree more with you on any of that.

Erm as a Christian who has studied at university, then got a masters degree and a good job as a geologist in Australia I take offense to that! However I agree with most of the rest of your rants especially rubbish TV and radio DJs I don't know whether Australia is worse, but their radio DJs are truly shocking.... give me Planet Rock any day!

I don't agree about the christians thing, in fact that's slightly offensive, however I do agree with the American christian right-wing nut jobs.

One of the reasons they annoy me in particular is wanting to ban FICTIONAL books like Harry Potter because its apparently evil. I could go on and on about these serf of people but I won't. Having been to the USA several times I unfortunately know that these sort of people exist.
